The Tale of Ely Senju

Chapter 36

Ely POV

If Tsunade invites me to dinner again, I'll cancel. When I think about the fact that she's the head of our village, I sometimes wonder whether we can still be saved. Why these thoughts, well, let's put it this way, Tsunade is sitting in front of me, drunk as a skunk and starting a fight with some guy. Before things escalate here, I'd better pay and then grab Tsunade. She's completely knocked out, so it's a good thing I don't have to walk far with her to drop her off at home. Shizune was already waiting for me. 'Oh, wait, I'll help you. She's overdone it again.' 'Yes! I paid quickly and then went out with her, otherwise she would probably have started another mass brawl. Shizune, I'd leave her in your capable hands now and go home myself.' 'I'll take it from here. Get home safely. See you tomorrow!' 'See you tomorrow!'

On my way home, I stopped for a moment and looked up at the sky. The stars were twinkling so beautifully tonight. I loved it. The bright glow somehow reminded me of my best friend. Oh Naruto, I hope you're doing well and that you're learning something with Jiraiya by your side. It will be a long time before he comes back to Konoha. I entered the house and made my way straight to my room. There I put on my sleeping clothes and snuggled up in my blankets. With the wonderful shining stars in my thoughts, I fell asleep.

In the early hours of the morning, I was woken up by Sakura. Wait a minute, Sakura? 'Sakura, what are you doing here?' 'Oh, Shizune told me to come and get you. Apparently, you're going to help train me.' Seriously? Tsunade is probably still far too drunk to lead Sakura's training. So, dear bed, I have to go, don't be sad. I changed quickly and then walked outside, where Sakura was waiting for me. Together we walked to the training ground, where Shizune was already waiting for us. 'Good morning, Ely. It would be nice if you could lead Sakura's training today. Tsunade isn't up to it.' 'That's all right. I'll help Sakura today.' 'Alright, Sakura, I'll see you later.' 'Yes!'

I turned to Sakura and looked at her with a serious expression. 'You may be my best friend, but I will show no mercy in this training. If you mean Tsunade unyielding, then welcome to my training.' Sakura looked at me with a very determined look. 'Then let's get started.' I didn't hold back and demanded everything from her. Taijutsu and genjutsu, I use almost all of my techniques. After the training session, Sakura sat on the floor in front of me, breathing heavily and with a few more scratches. 'Oh man. This training session was a lot harder than the one with Tsunade, but I think I've learnt a lot.' With a slight smile on my lips, I knelt down in front of her and started to heal her wounds. 'You did pretty damn well. I have to be honest, I didn't expect that, but I'm more than confident that you'll be able to defeat Tsunade very soon.' 'Thank you.'

After Sakura and I had said goodbye to each other, I made my way to the hospital. I was supposed to help out again today. On the way there, I saw the two eternal rivals again, but I kept walking. I don't need that again today. When I arrived at the hospital, I was immediately assigned to some newly arrived shinobi to heal them. And so, it went until I was through with my shift. My path then led me to my favourite clearing and I lay down on the grass there. My mind wandered, but I kept thinking that there must be something I could do to help Naruto with the fox spirit. I knew that Madara Uchiha had been able to summon it back then and that an Uchiha was responsible for what had happened to the village. Tomorrow I will go to the library and do some research. There must be something, and I was determined to find the impossible.

I have decided not to split this book into two books, but into two parts in this book. The next chapter will be Ely Senju (Part II), where I will put her character info for Part II.

The plan after that is to write events before Naruto comes back to Konoha and then I will start with Naruto Shippuden.
