Chapter 26

Ely POV

"Ely!" I turned around briefly and saw Kakashi walking towards me. "Kakashi, is everything alright?" "Sasuke is in the hospital. He ran into Itachi and had a fight with him. Naruto and Jiraiya are looking for Tsunade, because she's supposed to become the fifth Hokage." Oh dear, this is going to be fun. "Why are you telling me this?" "I want you to go after them and help convince Tsunade to come to Konoha." "I will." "Good, then get on your way. They already have a big head start." I nodded and set off straight away, but first home, because I couldn't leave in normal street clothes. So I changed first, packed a few things and then set off.

Outside Konoha, I then summoned Shadow. "Hello Ely, it's nice to see you and that I'm being summoned too." "I'm sorry, Shadow. Can you forgive me?" "Of course, I could never be mad at you. How can I help you?" "I have to find Naruto. He and Jiraiya are looking for Tsunade and I'm supposed to help." "Then get on!" Let's go then!

Shadow ran as fast as he could, analyzing any chakra that was nearby to see if any of those chakra signatures belonged to Naruto. He'd been running for some time, but still no sign of Naruto or Jiraiya, as I too focused on the chakra signatures around me to see for myself if I could find either of them. "Shadow, I think I've found the two of them." "Yeah, I can feel Naruto's chakra too." Shadow ran as fast as he could and jumped in front of Naruto and Jiraiya.

Naruto POV

'AGH. What's that?' There's a wolf in front of us. It's huge and what's it doing in front of us? 'Don't get your knickers in a twist, Naruto?' Huh? I know that voice. 'You damn wolf, spit her out again. Spit Ely out again!' Where did that stupid wolf get that idea? He ate Ely and now he's talking in her voice. 'Sometimes you really have gone off the deep end, Naruto.' From the wolf's back Ely jumped down. 'Shadow wouldn't eat me, you fool. He's one of my closest confidants. Geez, Naruto.' She stood in front of me and shook her head. Oops. I scratched the back of my head, embarrassed.

Ely POV

Sometimes he's, well. 'What are you doing here, Ely?' 'Helping you find Tsunade, Jiraiya. So, let's keep going. Shadow can track Tsunade's chakra signature.' Naruto was now standing in front of Shadow, full of beans and getting on his nerves. Oh, man Naruto. We kept walking and Shadow was now as big as a normal dog. So we could go on unnoticed. 'How did you actually find us?' 'Quite simple, Naruto. I'm a sensor ninja and Shadow is a sensor wolf, if there is such a thing. We can both detect and identify chakra signatures. That's how we found you.' 'How cool is that! I want to be able to do that too.' 'Maybe one day you will be able to, but now let's find Tsunade.'

We had been travelling for a few days until Shadow suddenly stopped. This caused me to stop as well, and I concentrated on the chakra signatures in our surroundings. 'Jiraiya, Naruto, you'll find Tsunade and Shizune in the pub up ahead. I'll wait for you by the river back there. You'll have to manage this on your own. Good luck. Oh, and one more thing, she loves betting. See you later.' I said goodbye to both of them and walked with Shadow to the river. Maybe I should use the time to do some training. Let's go then!
