Jin Kamurai

Ever since Jin holed himself up in his room, rumours and gossips circled around Darkwick non-stop.
It didn't come as a surprise to Jin whenever he heard those halfwits, people who have too much time on their hands, talk about all sorts of nonsense about him.

He could literally purchase their whole lives if he wanted to. Then again what need would he have for insolent fools.

"I heard his mother had some mental issue which caused her death."

"Really? Do you think it's in the genes? Jin locked himself in the room after the incident last year... maybe he has some kind of illness too..."

Two students whispered to each other right below his belcony. Although brought up in a noble household, these people behave like fools.
If he simply peeked down, they would scatter. They talk big but dare not even look him in the eye.

"You shouldn't talk about other people's private matters like this."

Now, that certainly surprised him. He glanced down the balcony to find you looking sternly at the gossipers.

The two only scoffed before one asked,
"Who are you again?"

"Doesn't matter. What matters is..."
Their voices and dialogue replayed itself from your phone.

"You-!"

"If you don't want Jin to hear this, apologise and never speak a word about it ever again."

The two students hung their head low and reluctantly gave an apology to which you recorded, before they hurried off.
You stuck your tongue at their backs and went your separate way.

- A smirk crept right up Jin's mouth. Looks like he would be gifting his loyal servant something big for the upcoming ball.

- Surprised at your tenacity and wittiness. Couldn't you be like this more often when on missions?

- Then again he is confused why you would even stand up for him despite him treating you like you're nothing.

- May or may not call you by your real name in the future, rather than the usual 'servant'.

Tohma Ishibashi

Wonderful. Now, word that he may be a spy had flown all over Frostheim, and if people weren't already giving him sceptical looks before, they were certainly doing so now.

Not that he ever cared much for other's opinions on him, yet the fact that you had so firmly stood your ground for him, moved a piece of his frozen heart.

"Before making such comments, why don't you think about how much he has contributed to Frostheim all this while, when your captain couldn't."

Your stature, along with a determined angry look, made a small chuckle slip from Tohma's mouth. The other students quickly cleared their throats and dispersed, having been caught talking behind their vice-captain's back.

- You were the last person he'd expect to stand up for him on this matter. Furthermore, it wasn't even a matter that directly concerned you.

- Would look at you with a tinge more amusement than he usually already does when speaking with you.

- Now that he understands your character better, he is more determined to keep you safe during missions.

- "Allow me to escort you" now always comes with his hand waiting for yours so he can link arms. It is far safer and better for him if he knew you were beside him.

Kaito Fuji

Yeah, yeah. He knows he isn't some big shot despite being in Frostheim, heck, or even in the whole of Darkwick. But must they really talk about him so lowly?
What did they mean coward? He didn't ask to be some ghoul and go on life risking missions all the time just for this hell school. Actually, it's pretty darn reasonable for him to want to live. No need to make him feeling like more of a loser than he is...

"Take that back right now."
Your voice made his ears perk up, he peeked behind the wall to find you confronting the group of students.
"What do the lot of you even know about him? Why don't any of you try going on the missions, then? Since you're all so brave, anyway."

Kaito could cry. He actually did afterwards. Seeing them back off with not a single comeback to that statement, moved him to tears.

- You were hands down, the most amazing and cool person Kaito has ever met. And he felt so damn lucky to have met you in that closet while hiding from Romeo that day you came into Darkwick.

- Coward? No, no. If you don't think he's a coward, why should he sulk about it? He'll try his absolute best for the subsequent missions to ensure your safety, even if it means he ugly cries in fear afterwards.

- You understood his rationale perfectly since you too, were someone caught in all this weird anomalous madness like he.

- Expect to receive little gifts of appreciation every now and then from here on out.

Lucas Errant

Surely an upright boy like he, wouldn't have any rumours or gossips circulating around about him, right?
Wrong. It's Frostheim, of course everyone talks smack about everyone else.

People say he was always annoyingly on task for every lesson, always asking the teacher's about more information on something when the teacher themselves clearly wants to leave already. And who ever told him reminding teacher of tests was a good thing to do?

"Enough already. Don't you think you have too much time on hands?"
You rolled your eyes at the group of gossipers who walked by, talking disruptively loud.
"If people are bad, you hate on them. If people are too good, you somehow still have things to say. Will you ever be satisfied? What's wrong with a good student, who is finally willing to learn and keep the class in check? Or does being noble forbid you from ever being appreciative?"

He was going to confront them himself but this stopped Lucas dead at his tracks, and for a good reason. He stared in admiration at your actions.

- There were many things he has yet to learn here in Japan and in Darkwick, and he never understood why people found it annoying when he simply wanted to clarify things with the Professors.

- He had a lot of things he couldn't disclose to just anyone either. Not now at least.

- But when he had a supportive friend like you around, he felt comfortable and safe enough to continue his search in Darkwick.

- Will do anything to defend your honour in the future if anything, or anyone were to target you, because you were worth it.
