I mean, your boy is canonically a player so... i can't save him here. Although i don't really agree with that, more like a real flirtatious, sweet talker. I guess in a sense, he does break hearts by being unable to commit, since he will quite literally kill the person if they get intimate.
Hence, there was bound to be some words that went around about him.

He doesn't mind the attention though, be it good or bad. That's just him. Besides, he's got his hands full taking a care of a 400 year old, baby-grown man, his plants and the bar.

A single mother who works two jobs~

So imagine the joy he has when you swoop in to defend him.

"You can call him a player, a flirty no good. But you have no rights to call him an asshole because you know that's not true."
You confronted the salty girl who was talking wild things about Rui.
"Has he ever treated you badly?"

Her stammering made you scoff,
"Didn't think so. So stop wasting your time and get over him already."

- You got him feeling all sorts of flustered. Don't do this to him, MC. He is already trying his best to not fall for you.

- "You adore me so much, don't you. MC?" And when you nodded he spiralled internally. Sir, it is recommended for you to stop flirting if you are physically unable to commit to a relationship. Like, quit breaking these player's hearts dude.

- When will you visit and help out in his bar again? He awaits your arrival every day. And when you do visit, he will want all your attention.

- How he hates this curse that forbids him from ever loving anyone, because anyone he touches surely dies. He can only watch as one by one, everyone he ever loved find their own happy ending.

If there was anything bad going around about him, he can jolly well stand up for himself, if only he actually bothered standing up in the first place.

This lazy vampire, is too preoccupied eating snacks in bed and keeping up with his favourite streamers, to give a shit about what is happening beyond that musty wooden door of his.

Literally only a handful of people know of his existence, and only Rui or Lyca would badmouth him to the extreme.

"I swear this bastard never learns."
Rui rolled his eyes, taking the laundry out from Ed's room.
"Look at this cheeto stain, he needs to get up and do his own damn laundry."

You laughed,
"I mean, in his defence, 400 years is a dreadfully long time to have been alive, he's probably done doing work for the next few years."

It wasn't your intention to defend him but it was close enough to make the vampire spawn behind you and place his cold, slender fingers on your shoulder.

"Ah, honour student, you know me so well."
He whispered uncomfortably close to your ears. He had the tendency to do that since you would jump and shudder in response, and he found that amusing.

- Naturally, he already enjoys teasing you in all sorts of ways because you're just a little human to him. But show any more regard for him and he'll tease you even harder.

- Clings to you your whole visit, until he feels tired, which usually happens quite quickly so worry not.

- Will play with your fingers absentmindedly, until you get used to it. At first, you'd be like what the heck is this guy doing? But he does that everytime you place your hands on Rui's counter, to the point where you just give up and let him play with it. Which is exactly what he wants.

- He is simply doing this for his own entertainment. He doesn't fall for anyone so easily, he's seen so many people in his life, what makes you special? But he makes an effort to come see you every time he hears from Rui you're visiting, he doesn't know why.

Lyca Colt

Werewolf. A beast. A monster. All of which he learnt not to take offence in when he hears since he has good hearing. If people stare too long, he will growl at them but Subaru and you told him he shouldn't do that too often, so he'll hold it back.

Can't people see he is still trying to fit in? He had been in captivity for so long, of course it will take time before he fully understands how full humans work.

"Oh my-, look at that..."
A student pointed out with caution when walking past Lyca.
"I can't believe the school is letting this sort of creature roam free. I thought they'd keep it locked up."

For Pete's sake, there were literally zipper crocs frolicking down by the road.

You could feel Lyca tense up beside you. No matter how tasty Sho's food was, hearing them speak could ruin anyone's appetite.
Lyca's grip on the fork tightened. He wasn't even holding it correctly, but it was an improvement from eating with his bare hands.

"That thing is barely human, look at the way it's holding the for-"

You threw your unfinished juice at the person speaking, unable to listen to his rant any longer.

"Apologise."
You stood your ground, glaring at the boy.

"Ha... What the fuck?!"
His hand going straight to his head, where the spot the juice box had landed. Then, storming up to you, he grabbed you by your collar but was shoved 1 full metre away as soon as he laid hands on you.

"Don't touch her, asshole."
Lyca looked down at him in disdain, bright yellow eyes full of malice.

He was trembling, and looking down you saw his claws showing, the metal fork he had held was broken clean in two on the floor.

His friend ran to report the case which made the four of you end up writing reports and courtyard cleaning duty. The whole time during your punishment, the other two didn't dare speak or even look at you and Lyca.

- He had tried so hard to restrain. He felt bad for getting you into trouble because of his actions but he couldn't get himself to apologise first.

- When he saw you snap, he was shocked. What happened to ignoring all that? But then the boy grabbed you, and he lost all restrain. Who did that guy think he was? He was the one at fault in the first place.

- You ended up apologising to him first for starting the fight. You'd done this...for him? He doesn't know what he was feeling but his tail couldn't stop wagging around the whole day.

- He too, was now fighting for your attention when you visit Obscuary. You were a good person, like Suba. Suddenly, he had a strong urge to protect you from all sorts of threats and anyone who dreams of hurting you.
