(I apologise for forgetting who requested this but here is a fic for the Subaru fans. Also for the future requests, unless specifically asked for, i won't be tagging who requested for each fic. That's on me though, since i take so long to start writing and I didn't make a list of who requested what. :') )

Subaru Kagami, the gentle and reserved captain of Hotarubi, soft spoken and well-mannered from the day he stepped into the world.

One might think he grew up to be rude and demanding since he was a child actor, yet he was none of that sort.

But the problem with a person too perfect, was their unseen side of imperfection.

Subaru Kagami had always felt more like a concept than a person to you, a concept of public perfection.

"...Kagami?"

Your friends squealed at another ghoul's suggestion. They were listing down names of who amongst the ghouls were the most attractive. It was a classic past-time for all the students.

Not that you disagreed with some of their tastes; Haizono was the good chef, bad boy heart-steal, Rui was the considerate little flirt, then there was your house captain, Kamurai, who needed no explanation. The list goes on.

Out of all, Kagami was the one where no one disagreed on being perfect.

"Oh, wait! MC, Kagami was in the same elementary school as you, right?"

You nodded.

Not just elementary, middle school as well. Every day for years, you watched teachers praise him for the tiniest things, probably hoping to get on the list of recognition so they can say, 'I taught this big star as a kid.'

The worst part was that even in a private school, there were unauthorised people who came in to snap photos of the young star. Students were forced by their parents to befriend Subaru for an autograph, that's how big he was. Honestly, disgusting behavior yet, the boy still entertained them with utmost kindness, never lashing out.

You couldn't imagine the amount of privacy Subaru had, or rather the lack of it.

When he suddenly disappeared from the media, you weren't surprised, instead you felt proud that he was able to make that decision for the sake of his comfort.

So when the girls started discussing all the little things about him, memories of the past made you sit out of it, choosing to read your textbook on anomalous artifacts.

You made eye contact with the boy, but quickly diverted from his dark violet gaze.

Did he recognise you? Maybe, maybe not.

He never approached you before, though this wasn't the first time your eyes collided with his. And, you had a feeling it wasn't going to be the last.

In fact, your heart was pounding faster than it needed to, when you turned to hide behind the walls. You wished your eyes had been playing tricks on you.

Hung on a tree were several pairs of silver scissors, tied with red string and Kagami had been the one installing them, his lips twisted into a sinister smile.

When he snapped his head to look at you on the 3rd floor of the building, you could've sworn your heart leapt out your chest.

"MC."

Kagami's spine-chilling soft voice sent a shiver down your spine.

How did he get here so quickly?

He walked towards you, slow but purposeful, extending his hand to pass you something.
