(very short, reimagined scene from the last part of ep 23.)
An earsplitting crash caused every strand of your hair to stand, goosebumps trickling across your body as the ashtray split into a million fragments.
Why didn't you ask me?
His question circled at the back of your mind and was momentarily pushed back from shock. How come everything ended up being your fault no matter how hard you tried? Kyklos had escaped into the other world in the end.
Do you want to die?
Was that your fault too? All the events that piled up to this day, seemed to have stemmed from you and you only. From boarding the train after the concert, to watching your chance of surviving literally slip away in front of you.
You had given yourself a fair share of punishments for all your mistakes you made to reach this point. You tolerated the names, the attitude and this wretched curse — and for long enough.
“... Pathetic. All of you.”
The man who threw the ashtray across the room rose from the sofa.
“... We're done. Don't come back here again.”
Jin turned and tossed his cigarette on the floor where all the others had scattered from the haul of their tray. The revolting smell of smoke penetrated your flared nostrils.
Yeah, it had been going on for long enough.
You reached for the taller man's shoulder, swivelling him around so abruptly, you saw his eyes widen ever so briefly.
“Who the hell are you to talk to me this way? Do you think you're so important?”
Jin's face contorted into a frown, nonetheless you continued, unable to control the words that spewed out like a machine gun.
“We’re pathetic? Sure. But what about you? Throwing tantrums as you please — I'm the one who's dying, not you. So why the freak are you the one mad about not capturing Kyklos?”
With a scoff, you stormed out the god forsaken ice palace that always reeked of burnt cigarettes. You didn't care what Jin would do after this. Frankly, nothing else mattered anymore. Especially not to a dead man walking.
‘Don't come back here again.’?
With pleasure.

Anyone else, he would've dodged their hands as soon as they raised, at the very minimum, shrugged them off like dust after they landed.
Yet, he never saw yours coming.
He always knew that ‘nice girl’ facade would come off one day, he just hadn't expected it to be today. Certainly not when, even he, had gotten used to seeing you obey every order and take in every insult with a smile plastered on your face.
Today, the mask cracked. No, shattered. Your eyes bore immense rage and menace, a collective manifestation from everything you shouldered that his own anger could barely match up to.
Why was he so mad in the first place? Not getting the Laurel Crown? It would inevitably be his no matter what.
Tohma not following his orders? Well, neither is anyone else.
You, not asking him to join the Kyklos mission?
…
He'd thought by now you'd see how much more capable he is than the rest of those worthless fools. If you had gone to him and not that useless reaper from Obscuary, you wouldn't be like this. You wouldn't need to die this way.
'Don't come back here again.'
More like you can't. Not with death looming over you more and more each day caused by inadequacy. The ground of his chambers shook as he plunged his fist into the pillars, cracks splitting the wall like the shattered tray.
[Not sure where I was going with this one, but I just felt MC needed to stop taking the L for once and actually speak up. Also, for the sake of updating since I've been busy for a while.]
