I drive back home from work after my run in with Garrett fucking Gray. And my heart was in pain. Something he seemed to be very good at causing. I grip my steering wheel as tears fill my eyes. I quickly wipe my tears and focus on the road ahead of me.

I felt like an idiot. And I felt even worse because I always found myself crying over him,

I get home and rush inside my apartment, the second I get into my room, I fall down on the edge of my bed and pull my phone out. I call the only person who could make me feel better right now.

The phone stops ringing before I hear her voice, "Hello?"

"Mom?" I let out a small sob.

"Taylor? Honey, what's wrong?"

I shake my head as tears stream down my face, "Why do they always leave me, Mom? I don't get it. First Dad and now him too."

"Who, baby? Who left you?" She questions.

"Garrett. He left me."

"What? Why?"

I didn't answer her question right away. I didn't want to tell her the truth, it was too embarrassing for me to admit out loud.

"He doesn't love me." I whisper.

"Oh, baby. Yes, he does. Of course he does."

"No, Mom. He doesn't." I choke out.

"Don't cry, sweetheart. He doesn't know what he's losing." She tells me.

I let out a small sob as I looked down at my lap, "I shouldn't have trusted him. I'm such an idiot."

"No you arent, baby. You're not an idiot for trusting someone." She explains.

"I love him, Mom. He hurt me but I still love him." I confess.

"I know. I know you do."

I sigh as I wipe my tear stained face. My head hurt, my heart hurt, everything fucking hurt.

"I miss you. I miss you so much." I whisper.

She sighs, "I miss you more, Tay."

"I really wish you were here right now."

"Me too."

The line fell quiet but I could still hear the sound of my mother's breathing on the other side. There was something comforting about hearing her breathe. I was a full grown adult but I still needed my mom. I'd always need her. No matter what. I would always need her. And I didn't care what anyone thought of that. My mother taught me what unconditional love was really like.
