"Get off me!" I scream on the top of my lungs. I was clawing at his hands that were locked around my neck.

Every breath I took was becoming harder and harder. He kept saying things but my brain wasn't able to understand anything. All I could see was his angry face and my mother's cries from behind him.

My legs were kicking and moving, trying to get him off me. But his weight overpowered me. I gasped for help, for air but I was drowning. I'd been drowning for years ever since he left us. Since he left me.

I looked into my father's eyes and I knew I was gonna die. This was it. I was done. It finally was gonna happen. He was gonna kill me. And my mother would be all alone. Without anyone.

Maybe if I died, maybe he'll come back and protect her because I wouldn't be able to.

"Get off him, Aaron!" My mother screams on the top of her lungs.

I watch her enter my eye line, trying to pull him off me before he shoves her back, knocking her back onto the wooden floor.

"Don't fucking touch her!" I scream.

My heart drops when I see her hit the ground, it gives me the power to shove him off me and rush to her.

"Mom?" I cry as I pull her to me.

Before she could say anything, he pull me away from her, slamming my head into the ground before his fist met my face.

I tried to get up and run but my body wouldn't let me move. I drag my body closer to the door but fail once he kicks me back to the ground.

"G- get off me." I gasp for air as he gets back on top of me.

He punches me in the face before his hands lock around my neck once again, "Stop. Don't. Dad." I cry as his grip tightens.

I was screaming for help but nothing was coming out of my mouth. I was grabbing his hands to get him off but he didn't budge.

"I'm gonna kill you. Worthless, pig." He snaps.

I knew he wasn't lying, it was the truth. He was going to kill me.

Get off me.

Let me go.

Please.

Someone save me.

Help.

Mom.

Conrad.

Someone.

Save me from him.

"Garrett? It's okay. Wake up. Garrett. You're okay." I hear a voice telling me.

But my dad's mouth wasn't moving, my mother wasn't saying anything.

"Wake up, Garrett. You're okay." I hear the voice again before I feel a small shake against my body.

My eyes shoot open and I gasp for air. I sit up in my bed, my whole body dripping in sweat. I place my hand against my chest, trying to catch my breath.

"Hey. It's okay." I hear a whisper from next to me.

I look over and see Taylor sitting there looking at me with a gentle look on her face. She places her hand on my thigh and I just look at her.
