The moment I stepped into view, I barely had time to react before two sets of arms wrapped around me, pulling me into a tight embrace. Georg and Gustav held me like I was some long-lost treasure, their excitement buzzing through them as they practically lifted me off my feet.

"Oh my god, finally!" Georg laughed, giving me an extra squeeze before pulling back just enough to get a good look at me. "Do you have any idea how long it's been? Way too long."

"Seriously," Gustav added, his grip lingering for a second before he let go. "You didn't call, you didn't text. We were starting to think you forgot about us." His teasing tone was light, but there was genuine warmth behind it.

I rolled my eyes. "Please, like you two are any better. You've been all over the place."

"Fair," Georg admitted, exchanging a grin with Gustav. "The tour was insane. So much fun, but exhausting. I swear, I haven't slept in a real bed for so long."

"And the food," Gustav groaned. "If I never see another airport sandwich in my life, I'll be happy."

I laughed shaking my head. "Sounds like a glamour rockstar life to me."

"Oh, totally," Georg said with a smirk."You should've been there. We would've dragged you on stage at least once."

The lighthearted conversation made it easy to pretend everything was normal that things hadn't changed, but then Georg sighed scratching the back of his head.

"We're sorry that Tom and Bill couldn't come," he said. "I'm sure they wanted to, but you know—"

"Yeah, I figured," I cut in quickly, forcing a small smile. "It's fine."

It wasn't fine. Tom and I weren't in a good place right now—that was an understatement. And Bill... well, I had a sinking feeling he was avoiding me because of it the thought gnawed at me, but I shoved it down, not wanting to get caught up in it now. Not when Georg and Gustavo were here acting like everything was still the way it used to be.

So I nodded, pretending like it didn't matter. "Tell me more about the tour. What was the best show?"

And just like that, they dove back into their stories, spilling the space with laughter and wild memories. I let myself listen. Let myself pretend, even if it part of me it was somewhere else entirely.

Jayla arrived nearly an hour late, but none of us could really be mad about it. She came rushing up to us slightly out of breath, her curls bouncing with each hurried step.

"Sorry, sorry! My mom needed help with something, and you know how that goes." She rolled her eyes but grinned, barely taking a second before pulling me into a hug. "I missed you, dude."

"We saw each other yesterday," I laugh. "But I missed you too." I said, squeezing her back before stepping aside. "Look who else decided to show their faces."

Before she could say anything, Georg was already pulling her into his arms, spinning her around, just enough to make her laugh.

"Finally," he murmured, pressing a quick kiss to her forehead. "Thought i was gonna have to survive without you tonight."

"Oh, the horror," Jayla teased, but she melted into him for a second before stepping back. "I missed you too, by the way."

"Good," he said with a smirk. "I'd be offended if you didn't."

Gustav made a dramatic gagging noise. "Can you two save the romance for later? Some of us are trying to have a good time here."

Jayla shot him a look. "Like you're not the biggest softie here."

"Whatever, Gustav muttered, but he couldn't keep the grin off his face.

And just like that, we were off.

The rest of the evening was a blur of laughter and easy conversations. We wandered through the busy streets, stopping and random shops and daring each other to try on the most ridiculous outfits we could find George nearly bought a pair of neon green, sunglasses shaped like palm trees just because he thought they were "fashion-forward." Gustav dragged us into a tiny record store and immediately made himself at home flipping through vinyls claiming he was on a mission to find "the greatest album of all time" Jayla and I of course kept slipping random ones into his stack just to mess with him. By the time he got to the counter he was holding three '80s pop albums, a country greatest hits collection and something that looks like a meditation soundtrack.

we grabbed food from a street vendor sitting on the steps of some random building while we ate passing around fries and trading bites of whatever we'd gotten the night air was warm and for a while it felt like nothing else mattered—just the four of us no stress, no drama just the simplicity of being together.

eventually, we ended up at the beach the waves lapped gently at the shore, the distant glow of city lights reflecting off the water. We sat in the sand side-by-side shoes was kicked off and feet half breed in the cool grains. It was one of those rare quiet moments where no one really needed to say anything.

Georg sat with Jayla, tucked against his side, his arm draped over her shoulders as she absently traced patterns in the sand. Gustav leaned back on his elbows, staring up at the sky. I hugged my knees to my chest, letting out a slow breath.

"Good night, huh?" Jayla murmured after a while, tilting her head toward me.

I nodded. "Yeah. Really good."

And for the first time in a while, I actually meant it.
