Recap: I opened the door and my heart nearly shattered.
Four's POV
I see Tris laying on a hospital bed as pale as possible with countless machines hooked up to her. My breath hitches in my throat.
Her eyes find mine and it's obvious that she's exhausted. "Tris..." I say, trailing off. Her eyes leave mine and stop on the ground. I can see her blush form embarrassment.
I walk to her bed and take a chair and sit down beside her bed. "I said this in text but I need to say this in person too. I'm so sorry. I didn't mean any of it. I was just mad at my dad and I took it out on you. I'm so so sorry," I say. Tris finally looks at me and I see that her eyes are glossy. "I-I'm s-sorry that I s-screamed a-at y-you," Tris stutters. Is she having trouble talking? I shake my head, "It's okay." She gives me a small smile.
The door opens and a nurse walks in. "Oh! Hello! You must be Four!" She says. I nod. "Great! Well I'm just going to check her," she says and Tris looks scared but allows her to check anyway.
The nurse doesn't say anything else but she leaves.
Tris lays there looking very tired. "What's your condition?" I ask. "I-I don't know. I-I didn't a-ask." She says. I give her a small smile and tuck some loose hair behind her ear. "Can I ask you something?" I ask. She nods. "Do you still like me?" PShe looks down and gives me a small nod. I smile. "Good, cause I still like you. So are we together again or...." I question. Tris looks up and gives me a soft, short kiss. I smile. "Is that a yes?" I ask. She nods and blushes. "Good, now how about you try to go to sleep?" I ask. She nods and she adjusts herself. After a couple minutes of her trying to go to sleep she asks me, "C-can you l-lay d-down with m-me?" I smile. "Of course," I say and crawl into the bed. She rests her head on my chest and she falls asleep quickly. Her even breaths make me fall asleep as well.
