My beatings have slowed down, so that's good. It's been nearly 2 hours since I FaceTimed Tris. I really hope I didn't scare her or force her into anything by saying I love her. Footsteps come down the stairs. "Son, stand up." I do so. He cleans the blood off his belt. "This is for your own good," he says and lifts the belt, then a miracle happens.
The front door busts open.
