Tobias POV
I pull Tris downstairs to the basement. My hand rests on her back, and I feel her body shaking. We go down a few more steps, then I go over to the middle of the basement and open the box.
As I pull stuff out of the box, I look up and see Tris standing a good but away from me, shaking like crazy, with a terrified look on her face. "Come here, baby," I say softly, opening my arms. She walks over to me slowly, then sits beside me, still looking petrified. "It's okay," I say and pull her into my arms.
A sudden, extremely loud, boom of thunder explodes outside, completely shaking the house. Tris gasps, jumping out of her skin. Heck, it scared me to.
"Shhh, it's okay. It's just thunder," I say into her ear as she wraps her arms around my torso tightly.
I don't blame her for being so scared. I would to if that happened to me. So, unlike a bounce of others would do, I don't judge. She's my girlfriend and she's scared. What else would I do, make fun of her?
I get out the blanket in the box and wrap it around both of us. As I listen to her rapid breathing, I rock her back and forth, and rub her back, trying to prevent her having a panic attack. "Shhh..... You're safe...." I try to say, in hopes to calm her. I realize she's clutching her scared arm, while gasping for air. "Relax. You're okay. I'm here. Nothing is going to hurt either of us. Just relax," I say.
It took a few minutes, but her breathing comes to a regular pace.
The storm doesn't slow down at all. With the blanket wrapped around us, the air is chillier than it was upstairs.
After an hour of sitting on the basement, I hear loud knocks on my front door.
