KENNA
The smell of bacon and sausage flooded my room, which made my stomach growl. My eyes fluttered open till I was fully awake.
What the hell?
When the hell did I fall back asleep?
Moving slightly, I pulled the covers with me till I was sitting up right. I looked toward the door which was opened ajar.
Images of the night before flooded through and then the dream.
There was a dull ache between my legs.
Ignoring the feelings that came flooding in, I decided to find out where the smell was coming from. Even though it was coming from my house, it doesn't seem to sink in it could be Adrian. I got out of bed and walked through the door, while grabbing a hoodie.
Placing the hoodie on, I walked and stopped in my tracks when I saw what was going on in front of me. Adrian cooking, but not just cooking but topless. His back muscles flex when he moved.
Knowing he wasn't looking; I couldn't help but check him out. He was still wearing the pants from last night. My eyes landed on his tight firm ass—fuck. That was a fine ass.
"Having a good look," Adrian said, his voice filling the kitchen. My eyes shot from his ass and then to the window which only did I realise was open and I was met with his eyes burning into mine. It wasn't his eyes that caught me off guard, it was the smirk that pulled up his lips. "Take picture it would last longer or better yet; I can give you a better look."
My cheeks burned as I looked away and looked to the side, into the lounge. There was no bedding or pillows on the couch. Where the hell did he sleep last night?
Fuck, I wasn't a good host. I forgot to give him things to use while he stayed here.
Movement of pans and running water pulled me back to look at Adrian, who was now dishing out the food onto two plates. "Come and eat."
I said nothing but moved toward the table. Pulling out the chair, I sat down just as Adrian placed the eggs on the plate and turned back around. He moved toward the kettle and grabbed the two mugs, placing them on the table too.
Grabbing the mug after he put it down, I drank some coffee and closed my eyes. Coffee was the best way to start the day, in my opinion. Not very often I would have time for breakfast but since Adrian had cooked some food, I might as well eat.
Placing the mug back down, I picked up my fork but looked to see Adrian staring at me with a smile. "A coffee girl, huh?"
I gave him a nod and looked toward our plates, which only then did I realise that they mounted up with food.
Fuck, I wouldn't be able to eat all that.
"I don't think I can eat all this," I murmured, keeping my eyes on the food.
"Just eat what you can," Adrian said, making me look back at him. "I will have the rest."
We both started to eat and stayed silent until I couldn't eat anymore. I placed the knife and fork down on the table, blowing out a shuddered breath. I was full to the rim. I don't think I have ever eaten like that in my life.
"Good?" Adrian said, making me look at him. I smiled.
"Yeah. Thank you for making it. I didn't expect—"
"It's my pleasure," he said, cutting me off with a grin.
Adrian kept on eating while my eyes went over his head to the window. It was still dark outside and raining, which meant the storm still hadn't passed.
"When do you think the storm will let up?" I asked, trying to make conversation with Adrian.
Adrian looked at me and shrugged. "I don't know. I think it's in for another day or two."
I gave him a nod and looked around until I met his eyes again. It was only then did I realise he hadn't stopped looking at me. "What?"
Adrian placed his knife and fork on the table then leaned back in the chair, his eyes never leaving mine. "Nothing but you do seem a little off. Did you sleep okay?"
I stared at him, wondering what the hell he was talking about. There was no way he would have known about my dream of him but why was he looking at me with that dark hooded look. There was some sort of flicker, which only made my eyes widen slightly and look away.
Clearly, I needed sleep or sex.
Nope, even though the man before me was hot as hell and was driving everything in my core on fire. I was not going to stoop myself so low, even though my lady parts were disagreeing with me.
Why was that?
"Kenna," Adrian said, making me pull back from my racing slutty thoughts. I really need to get laid or put to sleep, either one would do me good. Even though come to think about it, would Adrian let me ride him?
Ah, stop thinking and answer the damn man.
"Sorry," I muttered, clearing my throat and looking at him.
The smirk that pulled his lips was back, his eyes were burning with something, but it was hard to tell but it was not helping my core at all.
"Slept okay. Only woke up when I heard the thunder."
Adrian stared at me for a moment before he spoke. "There is supposed to be more rain coming in, heavier." I gave him a nod, not knowing what to think until he continued. "How about you have a shower while I clean up. Once you are done, we can play a game or even watch a film."
"Sure," I said, liking the idea. "I have some old board games on the bottom shelf I bought from a thrift store. You pick and we can play."
Adrian grinned. "Okay. We can make it interesting too, but I will wait till you are done."
The way he said we can make it interesting had my stomach churning, wondering how would we make it interesting?
I move out of my seat, but Adrian placed his hand on my wrist and electric shock shot through, making my eyes widen at the contact. Clearing my throat, I looked at him. His eyes on me, looked so intense but soon recovered and was placed with a smile. "I had to ask, why do you have board games? It's not like we are in the nineties."
My mouth dropped open, but I quickly close it. "It's not all about the electronics. As I much as I love watching the new TV shows, the latest movies and playing the latest games, you can never beat a board game. It was something I liked to do as a child. It used to bring family time which was lacking."
The mere thought of talking about my childhood brought my heart breaking slightly. I hated talking about it since it was no one's business.
Looking away from Adrian and knowing the look of pity he would give me like others before him who have asked that question, I cleared my throat and moved from his grasp. There were some lingering tingles from his touch.
"I'm going in the shower; I won't be too long."
Stepping away, I walked toward the bathroom while I could feel Adrian's eyes burning holes in the back of my head as I left.
