KENNA
My eyes stay on Adrian, even though I could feel pain in my neck from James's hand.
The asshole grabbed me when Adrian opened the door, it was like he knew he was out there. Trying to stop my mind from racing, I looked down and noticed fur which made my whole body tense. James's hand was his wolf's paw or was I clearly seeing things since Dylan did what he did in front of me.
My head started to pound, which was now getting to me.
Fuck, this was not what I needed. Not when your old boss is holding you by the neck, with his paw. Fuck, that was a weird thing to say, even for me.
Fear crept through me, while Adrian moved further into the house when James's paw tightened around my neck. "Don't move, Lycan. Or I will slice her pretty throat."
What did he mean a Lycan?
A low growl came from somewhere, but my eyes widened when Adrian's eyes flickered like Dylan's did. What the hell? Was he like them?
"You won't touch her," Adrian spoke, his voice thick with something which made me wonder if he was struggling with something. "You need her, just as much as her designs."
James laughed. "Yeah, you are right about her but the designs, I will get her to make something even better and then it will bring in more money. More than what this shit pack has ever done for their own."
What the hell was he on about?
Nothing was making sense.
Adrian's eyes narrowed at him. "What the hell is that supposed to mean?"
"Like I stated," James said, stepping back while taking me with him. His grip going tighter, and pain slipping in. Something wet was dribbling down of my neck, which meant James had pierced the skin of my neck with his claws.
His words kept coming, like he didn't care. And right now, he should. Adrian's eyes are still on me, but now on my neck. His eyes darken, which made me realize he seen the blood.
"Our pack is a lot bigger than yours," James growled, tightening the grip on my throat which come to think about it I don't think he knows is slowly hurting me. My hand grabs hold of the fur, hard but nothing budges the asshole. "The fucking council had to put a mandate on us with what we were doing. I have no clue how they found out about the money, or even what we were doing on the side." He let out a growl, which made me tense since it rumbled right against me. "They had no right to stop what we needed. We needed more income and nothing was getting through to them. All we had to do was give them ideas and nothing we sent, they liked but then Dylan saw what Kenna had made. Showed me photos. We sent one and they loved it, but we didn't even know it wasn't finished."
What the hell was he on about?
What council?
Wait Dylan found my designs? Didn't that asshole say Bailey found them first? Was Bailey involved in this? Fuck, I had too many questions and no answers. And a raging headache to boot.
I was half listening to his ramblings, even though the pain in my neck was now getting worse. It was like his claw had gone further into my neck, which I pray he didn't. "We searched her apartment and found more and when we found—"
"All this for more income," Adrian all but growled, cutting James off while my mind raced over what James had said. They were in my home, while I wasn't there. How the hell did they get a key but Adrian spoke, or more like growled out his next words which cut my thoughts out while I heard more. "You have pack members to create whatever you wanted. You didn't have to use a human. And you call yourself an alpha. Why would you—"
"I had no other option!" James shouted, which made me jump with him. His hand tightening again, which was now starting to cut off my air.
I smack his fur hand to get his attention, but nothing.
"Alpha James, you need to let her go. She can't breathe!" Adrian gritted, his teeth grinding together. It was like he was about to lose control.
Part of me was scared, my eyes widened when I spotted fur coming out of Adrian and not just on his hands. It was sprouting through his chest which was then I noticed he had no shirt on and only shorts. Then my mind went back to what happened with Dylan. Oh no, Adrian was going to turn into something like the asshole.
James's face seemed to be closer to my ear now, his hot breath fanning my cheek. "Watch your so-called boyfriend, Kenna. You will see the real him."
"Let me go!" I gasped, which was when he loosened his hand on my neck but still had his hand around it.
"You heard our mate," a thunderous voice echoed. "Let her go now!"
My eyes locked on Adrian, and my mouth dropped open as I watched in slow motion what was happening. He was shifting, like Dylan but this was no wolf, it was more like a giant beast, who could barely fit in my home.
I watched in horror when the wolf like beast shoots out its fur and growled loud. I let out a scream, when someone came out of nowhere and James let me go. I fell on the floor and moved back till I could get my senses under control.
My eyes stayed on what was happening before me, while I brought my knees up to my chest.
Adrain, or whatever he was went charging at James who had now shifted into his wolf. A big black wolf, growling.
Then when I think, I was going to watch a fight, another beast came in. Similar looking to Adrian's, but silver while Adrian's was more silver-blue. Both looked at each other, then at James's wolf and that's when shit hit the fan.
Knowing I had to move, I scurry into the kitchen while moving onto my knees to crawl into the kitchen. I hid behind the kitchen counter, breathing heavy. Tears coating my cheeks, while my head pounded and raced over everything that had happened, but it was all too much to take in.
Growls and things being smashed came from behind the counter, while I moved my hands to my ears to cover them. Trying to block out what was happening, which was all my things getting broken, while I sat back and let it happen.
All I wanted to do was scream, but nothing happened or came out.
What the hell was I supposed to do?
A loud growl erupted, which was louder than all three beasts that were fighting in my house which was now destroyed by them all.
All I want was for this all be done, so I could run. Far and away from what I have seen.
Fuck, no one will ever believe me with what I have seen.
Bones cracked and other noises came but I ignored them all. I closed my eyes tight, all I could do was pray that no one would find me till I heard a familiar voice.
"Get him out of here," Maddox's voice came, making me tense.
Opening my eyes, I look ahead while I heard voices but couldn't figure out who was where.
Scrapping, growls still could be heard till I heard a door open.
Not wanting to know anymore, I look around the corner and watch what was happening. Adrian, Lewis, Maddox and a wolf had James and were dragging him out. Growls and talking could be heard outside, like more people were there.
I watched till every single person was out of my home and outside and that's when I took my chance. Moving quickly, I got up and run to the door. Slamming it shut, locking it and then turn around to slide down the back of the door till I hit the floor with tears flowing.
Through the blurriness my house was a mess, my couch was broken and not to mention everything little thing was smashed, even the bookcase. All my notebooks that were out, scattered everywhere and even some were ripped apart.
As much as I knew I had to tidy up, I couldn't. There was no go in me, I could hear knocking on the door. Adrian's voice came, but I blocked him out while I let the tears come and then let them turn into the horrible crying kind, something I haven't done in a long time.
