KENNA

I took off running, when his voice came again. "Don't run away, Kenna." His voice thick with something, which made me look back at him and that's when I see something I don't think my eyes could adjust to. But it also made me stop like a fool, while watching what was happening before me.

One minute Dylan was standing there, smirking like he knew something and the next thing I see his body breaking. Breaking and sprouting fur till he was a full wolf.

Deep green eyes stared back then his teeth started showing, and a loud growl came.

Holly shit!

What the hell? But before anything could sink in, the wolf or Dylan, took a paw forward toward me which instantly made me take a step back and place my arms up in surrender. Can you surrender to a wolf?

Nope you cannot, they will attack and kill you.

Before I could even think of doing something, someone shouted behind him which made me look to see Catrina holding something—a rock. "Hey dipshit, this way. I got what you want."

That made the damn fur rug move, while Catrina looked toward me and then motioned for me to move, which I started to shake but a loud howl came from somewhere which made me tense, until Cat screamed. "Run Kenna! Run!"

And like Forest Gump, I did. Fuck run Forest run, more like run Kenna run. And by fuck did I, I never once looked back and even pushed myself to run the fastest I have ever run in my life. I had no clue where to go.

There was no way of going back, not when I know Catrina was dealing with Dylan, or that wolf, or whatever it was.

My mind was jumbled up, thinking and re-picturing what happened back there. Did I actually see Dylan shift into a wolf? No surely not, but then it happened again.

What the hell was he?

Then a word I never thought I would ever say in my life—werewolf.

That was the only explanation.

I kept running until my foot got caught in something which made me trip over and roll on the ground until I heard a growl, which made me move fast till I spotted a wolf but then he shifted into someone—Dylan.

Oh hell! Yep, I was going to hell!

The man stared at me, his eyes flickering from his to the green of the wolf I had seen. "Stop running, Kenna. I will catch you and you don't want me to do that; my wolf won't play nice especially since you never gave us you."

That made my stomach sink.

Where the hell was Catrina?

Was she hurt?

A sinking feeling came, worry for my friend and petrified of what Dylan or his wolf could do.

This is not what I thought could happen.

I move slowly, while Dylan looked on till I stood up straighter. "Now, come back with me to that damn fucking house and give me what I came for. Alpha James paid a lot of money for those rogues to keep those fuckers away while we take you back."

"Like hell am I going back with you," I shouted, taking a step back.

Dylan laughed. "Oh yes, you are, sweetheart. You belong to us. You and your fucking designs belong to our pack."

Dylan took a step forward, which only made me step back again but it caused him to growl. "Don't you fucking dare move, you pathetic human. You are ours, not that pathetic mutt's."

I furrow my brows, what mutt? But somehow, I knew, I felt my heart spike a certain person's image came to mind—Adrian. Where the hell was he?

Just like he could read my mind, Dylan let out a cold laugh. "You know who I am on about, your fucking pathetic mate."

Mate?

What the hell was a mate?

This was all new to me, I had no idea of what he was talking about except what I thought before. James and Dylan wanted my designs; I never showed them any of them.

Something wasn't adding up, which made me look at him. Adrian would come for me right, he had to. We were getting close, and even together or more like we were an item.

Looking at Dylan, I stared for a moment before I asked him. "You didn't know about the designs for a while, not even when we were together so how would you have known about them?"

I had a funny feeling who and I prayed it wouldn't be; she was my friend. Or so I thought.

Dylan's look changed into a sinister one, something that would make any person want to move, but I needed to know who. "Oh sweetheart, you know fully well who it was." His eyes stayed on mine, while his head turned to the side and a smile appeared. "It was Bailey."

I closed my eyes, not liking what he said but now it made more sense. These were her friends, hell if we wanted to say wolves were involved, wouldn't they be in a pack? And that is what Dylan stated a few moments ago to me.

Dylan laughed till he stopped which made me open my eyes, he was now grinning. "Oh, you thought she was your friend." He let out another laugh before he continued. "Bailey is a loyal little mutt, who will do anything to get status even being friends with you."

Some how that stung more, but why would he say it like that? Like I said something is off with this.

Dylan's face changes and goes hard while he growls again, only I hear a loud howl which soon sends tingles down my spine.

What the hell was that?

Dylan smirks, while looking over his shoulder. "Let's show you what you had in your bed, shall we?" he said, while his wolf comes out first and shifts when something large and very tall charges out of the forest behind him, taking on the wolf who wasn't even ready for him.

I watched in shocked silence at the scene; two huge beasts fight while I stand there like a lemon.

Like hell am I staying put, while the two of them fight it out, I make a run for it and head like I am heading toward them but back the way I came since I know there is nothing further back the way I went, there is nothing but greenery and more trees. And as much as I love camping as the next person, I would like to be somewhere where it is warm and has a door, especially since there are wolves around here and big ones.

I run again, like my ass was on fire or better yet, away from what I had witness and headed back the way I came till I see my house.

As I approach, I open the door not caring what is around me and head inside till I hear a deep gravel voice. "Well, it is about time you showed up. Now where are your designs? We must go before Alpha Maddox comes and realises I am not where he thinks I am."

Standing before me was James, my old boss and someone who I admired when I was with him but now, I don't even know anymore. Hang on, did he just say, Alpha Maddox?

What the hell?

I step back and hit my back on the door, when he let out a loud growl and his eyes change—red. "Now, you don't want to make my wolf come out, do you?"

Oh god, not again.

What the hell do I do now?
