"I'm going to take a shower." Chris said before standing up and turning to me, "I won't be far, just stay with Toby and Kaden for me."

I nodded and gave Chris a smile to let him know I was fine staying with Toby and Kaden. Ryan huffed, folding one arm across his chest as he kept his eyes on his cellphone. Chris glanced at Ryan for a few seconds then gave me a small smile, "When I get back I will make you some breakfast."

"Zebra cake!" I said excitedly, tugging on Toby's arm. Chris rolled his eyes as he chuckled, "You can have a zebra cake after your breakfast. I want you to have something healthier first."

"I could make her something." Ryan said, a hint of annoyance in his voice. Why was he sounding annoyed? Does he really hate Pokemon that much? Why is he even in here? Chris looked at Ryan and AJ for a second before smiling at me, "Ryan will make you anything you want to eat for breakfast — that isn't a zebra cake."

I pushed out my bottom lip slightly. I still didn't feel that close to Ryan. Ryan always seemed mad, too. I don't want him to be mad at me. He could even be planning on how to get rid of me with Logan. At least I know Toby won't let anyone try to hurt me. Would Toby be able to know if my food was poisoned, though, if Ryan tried to kill me? Chris moved his eyes to Toby and Kaden, "Keep her safe."

"Will do!" Kaden said cheerfully, giving Chris a thumbs up. Chris seemed content with Kaden's answer, giving a smile then glancing at me before vanishing out of the room. I leaned back into Toby, putting all of my focus on the game in his hand. Toby had shown me how to battle a gym leader then reset the game without saving it so I could have my turn to battle. Toby walked me through every step before he restarted the game. The Pokemon Center came into view. Within a few seconds Kaden's character was in the game beside my character again.

"What would you like to eat, Melody?" Ryan asked. I looked at Ryan. I didn't know what a breakfast food was, exactly. I wasn't even really hungry. I shook my head to let Ryan know I wanted to wait before eating anything. AJ looked up at me from his cell phone then leaned his head towards Ryan, "Don't bother. She won't eat unless Chris tells her to."

Ryan rolled his eyes and let out an annoyed sigh. Is he getting mad because of me? What have I done to make him mad? I heard the familiar song of Toby's phone start playing, but it wasn't very loud this time. Toby pushed me up before standing up and handing me his Switch, "Here. Karma's calling. She will flip if she sees you."

Before I could protest, Toby vanished out of the room. I looked down at the Switch in my hands. I didn't know how to use this. I had watched Toby use it and he had told me how to use it, but I don't understand how to use it. There is also the little fact that I can't read. I can read small words. Grayson had moved me up to learning four letter words only a week ago. The absence of Toby's body was what my body wanted to focus on. I scooted beside Kaden, remembering him saying he would protect me when he was on the phone before we met. I hoped he would really protect me if I needed it. Kaden leaned into me, his shoulder pressing against mine, "We're together in game and in person. Isn't that cool?"

I felt my cheeks tingling as a warm feeling came over them. I looked up at Kaden, his yellowish-green eyes were warm and seemed to calm my insides down. The grin on Kaden's face told me he enjoyed my company and wanted me to stay beside him. Kaden chuckled, "You're blushing so hard. It's cute."

I turned my head away and looked down at the floor. That must be what the tingles are. I let my thumb rub Bash's back. Kaden leaned against me more, "I do like seeing your face, blushing or not."

"Kaden." Ryan snapped, making me jump slightly at the tone he used.

"I wasn't trying to hit on her." Kaden mumbled, making his Pokemon character run around in circles again. Kaden gave a small sigh, "Sorry if it sounded that way."
