Lily moved her eyes towards me and I was able to see the color of her eyes better. They were a pretty blueish-green shade under the bright lights. I gave her a little smile, hoping that seeing a face that's being friendly would make her feel better. I am human just like she is, so she shouldn't be scared of me. Vinny chuckled, "That's right! I won't attack anyone because I used to be human, and Melody is human."

"She's human?" Finn asked, surprise clearly in his voice as his eyes quickly met mine. His eyes squinted in confusion, but the friendly warmth never left them, "I can only smell vampire blood."

"She has our blood to keep her scent masked." Vinny said, keeping his voice low. I lifted Bash up and outwards, pointing a finger at the vial on his necklace so Finn and Lily could see the vial was full of blood. Finn's eyes seemed to light up more, as if what Vinny said made him happy. Finn looked back at Vinny, "I haven't thought of masking Lily's scent, but I do like the idea. Did you do it by using a vial on the stuffed animal?"

I felt a large hand on the top of my head as my hair was moved into my face, "Melody has a matching necklace that covers her scent, and Bashtion has his own necklace so he will be safe if he gets lost."

Finn smiled at Chris, who was now standing behind me, "That is genius. I never would have thought about that. I will definitely make one for Lily later. Are you all staying somewhere around here? I think Lily and Melody could become great friends."

"We're staying at the Sitkowski Manor for a few days, then we finish the rest of the tour, and after that, we will go back to the mortal realm." Chris said, taking a few steps to get beside me and closer to Finn. Chris held his right hand out towards Finn, "I'm Chris."

"Finn. It's nice to, officially, meet you." Finn said as he reached his right hand out to meet Chris' and shake hands, "I live in the mortal realm, too, but I have been staying here for the holidays. I think Lily will thrive better there, but I don't trust their doctors, so we have been staying with my brother, Callan, until she is ready."

Lily moved her eyes back down to the floor but Finn noticed quickly and gave her a light nudge with his left elbow as he pulled his hand back towards his body after the handshake with Chris, "Keep your head up, you are free, now. Show Immortals you do not fear them anymore."

"Are you going to adopt Lily?" Vinny questioned.

"Adopt?" Finn repeated out loud to himself, as if he was tasting the word on his tongue, looking upwards as he seemed to think about the idea. He suddenly smiled bigger and shifted his eyes to Vinny, "That never crossed my mind, either. Damn, you two are genius. Do you agree, Lily?"

Lily blushed but nodded. Vinny chuckled, "Well, Chris is legally adopting Melody, and we all kind of adopted her, too. After she asked about Lily, I had hoped you were going to do the same."

"You are such a sweetheart." Finn said, giving me a warm smile before looking back up at Vinny and Chris, "What is Melody's story? I pray it isn't anything bad."

Chris took in a deep breath as he looked around us, taking in how few people were in the area around us. Chris decided he could trust Finn, so with his voice low, he replied, "I saved her from being killed. She had never left where she was born until a few nights ago and she has no blood family. I was not going to let her go back to some fucking nightmare."

Finn's green eyes met mine. They held a warmth that made me feel like he cared. He closed his eyes for a few seconds before opening them and looking at Lily, "I was not going to let Zeke get rid of Lily, so I purchased her from him and freed her. I want her to experience life instead of only knowing pain, suffering and abuse. It is not right for someone to end their own life."
