Third point of view.
The next morning, you didn't waste any time. Sleep had been impossible since Takemichi's words keeping coming back to your mind no matter how much you tried to push them away.
So you did the only thing you could.
You went to see him.
Mikey's house was quiet when you arrived, the morning air still crisp. You stepped through the door. Heading toward his room, intending to check in on him, when faint sounds of movement made you stop. Your brows furrowed as you turned, following the noise toward the dojo. The sliding doors were slightly ajar, just enough for you to peek inside.
And there he was.
Standing alone in the center of the room, dressed in a keikogi.
Your eyes locked on him as he moved across the dojo floor. His kicks sharp and precise Every motion was smooth, controlled, and effortlessly skilled.
You knew you shouldn't be staring, but you couldn't help it.
He was insanely handsome like this.
His sharp features, the slight furrow in his brows, the way his muscles flexed beneath the thin fabric of his uniform, it was unfair, really.
You swallowed hard, leaning against the frame as he executed another kick, the impact echoing in the quiet space. You were so caught up gawking at him that you didn't realize he had noticed you until he suddenly stopped mid-motion, his head turning in your direction.
His eyes met yours, and you froze.
A smirk ghosted across his lips. "Enjoying the view?"
Heat rushed to your face instantly but instead of looking away you simply shrugged. "Yeah. I am."
His grin widened. "Then maybe you should come watch me train more often." He wiped the sweat from his forehead, reaching for his water bottle. "You'll fall for me over and over again. I'm just that charming."
It was meant as a joke, but you couldn't deny that his words might be true in your case.
You stepped inside as he took a sip of water, his eyes flicking to you curiously.
"So, what brings you here this early?"
You tilted your head. "Can't I come see my boyfriend?"
His gaze sharpened slightly, reading between the lines. "Of course," He said smoothly, setting the bottle down. "But I think there's more to it."
"Why do you think that?"
He leaned in, his free hand cupped your cheeks, squeezing just enough to make your lips pucker.
"Because your voice always lowers down when you're lying."
You blinked.
Was that true? You'd never noticed it before.
Pulling away from his grip, you rubbed the back of your neck, suddenly aware of how easily he could read you. Maybe he was right, maybe you did let your voice slip. And considering you weren't exactly telling the truth, it made sense.
After all, how could you just say it outright?
That after hearing he was going to kill everyone in the future, you just wanted to see him for yourself.
You couldn't say that.
So, instead, you took a quiet breath, steadied your voice, and lied again.
"I had a bad dream." You said, keeping your tone even. "So I wanted to see you."
