Third point of view. The next night came faster than you anticipated, and now you were in the kitchen with Sora, your nerves wound tight. He stood by the stove, meticulously preparing a hot pot, his movements smooth and practiced. You sat at the small counter beside him, absently toying with your sleeves as the rich aroma of broth filled the room.
"Relax." Sora said without looking at you, his tone a mix of stern and teasing. "You'
're acting like this is some sort of interrogation."Because it is. You gave him a weak smile, not trusting yourself to say anything without giving away your nerves.
The sharp chime of the doorbell cut through the air, and you shot up from your seat almost immediately.
"I'll get it!" You blurted, practically sprinting out of the kitchen before Sora could respond.
Your heart pounded as you reached the front door. Taking a deep breath, you opened it, only to be met with the sight of Mikey standing there, his usual easygoing grin in place. He held up a neatly wrapped package in one hand.
"Hey, I brought beef for the hot pot-"
"Shh!" You hissed, cutting him off mid-sentence. Without giving him a chance to say more, you quickly stepped out and closed the door behind you, shutting the two of you outside.
Mikey raised an eyebrow, clearly amused as you cornered him against the wall. "What's this? Am i finally getting a kiss?" He asked, a smirk decorating his face.
You ignored his words leaning in close. "Listen to me, Mikey." You said, your voice low but firm. "When you go in there, you are not a delinquent. You are not a gang leader. You're just a regular guy. Got it?"
Mikey tilted his head. "A regular guy, huh? What, like a salaryman?"
"I'm serious, Mikey." You snapped, your eyes narrowing. "My brother cannot know anything about that side of you. If he finds out, I don't even want to think about what will happen."
Mikey's grin softened into something gentler, and he nodded. "Alright, alright. I get it. I'll keep it clean."
You stared at him for a moment longer, searching his face for any sign of insincerity. When you were satisfied, you took a step back.
"Good." You said, crossing your arms. "Just.. keep it simple, okay?"
Mikey gave you a mock salute, his grin back in full force. "Simple. Got it. You ready to let me in now?"
You rolled your eyes but couldn't suppress a small smile. Turning, you opened the door and stepped back inside, glancing over your shoulder to make sure Mikey followed.
Sora's voice called out from the kitchen as you shut the door behind you. "Who was it?"
"Mikey." You replied, your tone as casual as you could make it. "He's here."
You shot Mikey a warning glance as you led him toward the dining table, decorated with numerous food declices , silently hoping he'd behave himself.
This is going to be a long night.
Mikey, ever the confident one, flashed that trademark grin of his as he held up the neatly wrapped package of beef. "Hey, I brought beef for the hot pot." He said with a casual shrug.
Sora, who had been working diligently on the hot pot, turned around slowly to face Mikey, his expression unreadable. He paused for a moment, scanning Mikey from head to toe as if trying to get a read on him.
"Thanks." Sora replied, his tone polite, but there was an edge of suspicion lurking beneath it. He pickes up the hot pot and placed it on the table and gestured for Mikey to sit. "You can put the beef there."
