Your point of viewThe wind stirred the curtains, causing them to flutter softly against the open window. Sunlight poured in, casting warm streaks across the library floor. From where I sat, I could hear the distant yells of students as the school bell echoed through the corridors, signaling the end of the day.
I flipped another page of the book in my lap, letting out a quiet sigh. Leaning back against the bookshelf, I stared at the window, momentarily distracted by the outside world.
"Y/n-san!"
The voice cut through my thoughts, and I turned to see Hinata rushing between the rows of shelves, her bright eyes scanning until they landed on me. She came to a halt just inches away, her hands on her hips as she looked down at me.
"Let's go! School's over."
Her gaze drifted to the book resting on my lap and then to the small pile of books on the floor beside me. "Wait... did you read all of these?" She asked, her tone a mix of surprise and disbelief.
I shook my head, starting to gather the books. "No, just bits and pieces from each."
Her lips formed an o as she observed the stack, her curiosity piqued. "'Theories of Time Travel?' What's this?"
I followed her gaze to the book she pointed out. Well.. I can't really reveal anything.
I shrugged nonchalantly. "Just some theories. Thought it'd be interesting to see how scientists explain it."
Hina's eyes widened slightly, her expression a mix of amusement and disbelief. "You? Reading about time travel?" She asked, half-laughing. "I thought you'd be into something more... practical."
I smirked as I stood up, slinging my bag over my shoulder. "Sometimes.. even I like to entertain the impossible."
Her lips curved into a playful grin. "Well, if you're going to daydream about time travel, I guess we better get going before we end up stuck here forever."
I flashed her a quick smile, then paused. "Where's your boyfriend?"
She blushed, the smile on her face turning a little sheepish. "He's waiting for us outside. I told him we wouldn't take long."
As we stepped out of the library, the sun greeted us, its rays lighting up our faces. I squinted up at the sky for a moment, watching the leaves swirl in the breeze before shifting my attention back to Hina.
"Oh, there he is!" She said suddenly, her tone cheerful. Linking her arm with mine, she pulled me toward the gate.
"Takemichi-kun!"
Takemichi looked up from his phone at the sound of her voice. When he spotted us, he passed us a blank stare before shutting down his cell phone.
"Let's go?"
"Yeah." Hina nodded eagerly as the three of us began walking out of the school gates. But after a few steps, she slowed down, her brows furrowed in confusion. "Takemichi-kun..."
He hummed in acknowledgment, glancing at her over his shoulder.
"Why are you alone? Where did you friend's go?"
"They left earlier." He replied simply, his tone nonchalant as he continued walking ahead.
I frowned at his curt response, exchanging a look with Hina.
"See? This is what I was talking about." She whispered sharply, leaning closer to me. "He's acting so different from yesterday."
I pressed my lips together, my gaze shifting back to Takemichi's retreating figure. Oh, Hina...how do I even tell you?
