Third point of view. The arcade was buzzing with energy, neon lights flashing and the sounds of clinking coins and cheering people filled the air. Mikey and you were facing off in a racing game, each gripping the controllers tightly.
You had just crossed the finish line, securing victory once again, and couldn't help but let out a triumphant laugh. "Another one for me!" You said, leaning back in your seat and flashing a grin at Mikey. "Looks like you're just not cut out for this, huh?"
Mikey, however, wasn't looking at you. He was staring at the screen, his face contorted into an expression that could only mean one thing, he was not happy. "I let you win." He muttered, clearly frustrated, but trying to cover it up with a dismissive tone. "Yeah, that's right. I wanted to lose."
You raised an eyebrow, crossing your arms over your chest. "Uh-huh, sure. You wanted to lose? Sounds to me like you're just a loser."
"I'm not a loser!" Mikey shot back, still glaring at the screen. "I just wasn't trying hard enough."
"Right, right." You said, putting on my most sarcastic smile. "It couldn't possibly be that I'm just better than you at this."
Mikey's eyes flashed with irritation as he straightened up, spinning the seat around to face you. "I'll show you better next round. Just wait."
You couldn't help but laugh. "Oh, please. You were all over the place last round. You didn't even manage to stay on the track."
"I did stay on the track!" Mikey insisted. "That was just a minor mistake."
"Minor mistake?" You repeated, raising an eyebrow. "You were going backwards halfway through the race, Mikey. That was a minor mistake?"
Mikey crossed his arms and pouted, clearly trying to hide his embarrassment. "It was part of my strategy."
"Sure. Keep telling yourself that." You teased, leaning in closer to him. "Your strategy needs a lot of work."
"Fine. Let's have a another round then."
Before you could respond, Mikey grabbed the controls again and positioned himself for the next race. Just as we were about to start, you heard a familiar voice from behind us.
"Alright, what's going on here?" Draken's voice cut through the tension, and both Mikey and you froze, turning to see him standing there with an amused expression.
Emma, who was with him, raised an eyebrow and looked from Mikey to me. "You two are seriously at it again?" She said with a grin. "I swear, you act like little kids sometimes."
You crossed my arms, leaning against the machine with a smirk. "Mikey's just mad he lost again. He can't handle defeat."
"I did not lose! I let her win. That's all."
"Uh-huh, sure." Draken said, raising an eyebrow. "You keep telling yourself that, Mikey. I'm sure everyone's buying it."
"Maybe you should just admit it." You added, stepping a little closer to him. "You lost. No shame in that."
Emma laughed, nudging Draken. "At least someone's realistic here. I think Mikey's still in denial.”
Mikey glared at all of us, but I could see the faintest smile tugging at his lips despite himself. "You guys have no idea what you're talking about."
"Alright, enough." Draken said, holding up his hand as if he was the referee in this ridiculous match. "We came here to have fun, not watch you two argue like kids."
