Chapter 45: Yorichi the doll dominates

"I wonder if it's too much to ask for these things to stop ending like they have been. Or to simply just give us the answers that we want," Hikaru sighed more to himself than anyone else but they all agreed with him.

"Well, there's nothing that we can do right now so all we can do is wait," Sanemi huffed before getting one of the wooden swords that they had been using for training and stalking off. So long as he didn't try to attack someone then it wouldn't disappear which meant he could still use it to work out some of his frustrations. Shinobu surprised a lot of them when she approached Tamayo and Yushiro and struck up a conversation with the two demons about different medicines. Even with all of her studying she wasn't arrogant enough to try and claim that she knew all about medicines and how to treat every single wound so even if they were demons she would gladly learn from Tamayo if it meant she would be able to use that knowledge to keep more demon slayers alive. Everyone split into groups to either talk to each other or spread out in the areas that they had got into before and surprisingly Hikaru stayed sitting instead of leaving like he normally would. There was one reason that he decided to stay sitting and that was the fact that he could feel Muichirou's stare on him and was waiting for the young hashira to approach him. When Tanjiro looked at him confused he waved him off so Tanjiro left with Zenitsu as they tried to calm Inosuke down who was demanding spars from everyone and anyone. Nezuko had approached Akaza and was being watched over by Kanroji, Ubuyashiki and Himejima as the older demon taught Nezuko some more hand to hand fighting.

"Is there something that you want to talk about Tokito?" Hikaru questioned when he realized that the Mist Hashira wasn't going to start the conversation that he wanted to have.

"Oh... Yes, I'm sorry," Muichirou apologized, and Hikaru nodded.

"May I ask what it is that you are apologizing for?" Hikaru asked.

"I made you hurt your back in the future. I remember Amane-sama teaching me to apologies when I hurt an innocent person. Wait.... Was it her that thought me that?" Muichirou thought, his head tilted to the side as he tried to remember but he couldn't quite recall the memories.

"I see.... May I ask you a question Muichirou?" It was obvious that Himejima and Ubuyashiki hadn't been able to get Muichirou to realize that his words about Blacksmiths and towards the younger boy were wrong. In that case Hikaru would try his hand and see if he could get him to understand if not, he would simply keep trying again and again until the younger boy understood.

"Okay," Muichirou agreed.

"This is completely hypothetical so that means that it is just a suggest, something that hasn't happened but could happen," Hikaru started. "If you were to meet someone that told you that swordsmen were outdated and didn't need to exist anymore, that all your training was for nothing now that guns existed how would you feel?"

Muichirou tilted his head a little confused, he didn't understand the question really especially since he wouldn't know how he would feel.

"I don't know, after all it hasn't happened," Muichirou shrugged not thinking any deeper than he already had.

"You didn't even think about it for more than a second. While it hasn't happened yet, I can guarantee that soon there will come a day when those words are spoken and they won't just be said towards you. It will be said towards all of the hashira, all of the demon slayers and even Oyakata-sama if they saw him with a sword, how would you really feel? Think about if properly," Hikaru muttered the first part but then spoke calmly after that not even phased when Muichirou's aura changed.

"They would be stupid to say such a thing, we protect them from demons," Muichirou scoffed. If anyone tried to say that to Ubuyashiki, he would hit them.
