Hikaru had found his way back into the autumn part of his mind but didn't stop as he continued to run. He wasn't just trying to run away from everyone, he was trying to run away from his memories and even when he was running he felt his breath catching and hitching. His foot caught on something and he went sprawling on the ground and he didn't get back up, instead laying on the ground and tears streaming down his face. It was going to happen again. Just like last time. The people that he had grown closer to, the people that he would call friends, the people that he felt that he would love with a little more time would see just how unstable and horrible he was. They would never want to see him ever again. Hikaru's thoughts continued to spiral so much that he didn't realize as someone approached him.
"Are you going to just lay on the ground all day?" A voice spoke and Hikaru froze before he turned a little to see Akaza had followed him and was leaning on a tree and staring at him.
"I would prefer to be alone right now, thank you," Hikaru managed to request even when his voice felt like it was trapped in his throat.
"Yeah that isn't going to happen unless you feel like forcing me to leave," Akaza scoffed. Hikaru glared at him as he sat up on his knees, his legs underneath himself, he just wanted a moment. One moment to himself and it's not like he could get that surrounded by people that would just worry about him and try and tell him that everything was alright. But it wasn't alright! Nothing about this situation was alright!
"You know, you might be the one to be able to see auras but you really are blind sometimes," Akaza sighed.
"What are you talking about?" Hikaru snapped and he flinched back a little as Akaza got closer to him and crouched down so that they were eye to eye.
"If you think that a burst of anger is going to make those demon slayers see you any different then you really are blind, even I can see that you would have to do something really horrible, like becoming a demon to make them hate you," Akaza said.
"You have no idea what you are talking about," Hikaru said.
"Sure I don't, it's not like I've been forced here and am being made to watch all of you grow closer," Akaza scoffed. "So you lost control of your anger? You have done it before and they didn't even bat an eyelash at it so what makes this time so different?"
"This is nothing like those times. Those other times I have simply been angry, every person can feel anger, even Demons. But this isn't just anger," Hikaru said.
"Then explain it to me, because to me it just looks like you are pissed off because you and your little friends are hurt," Akaza said. He wouldn't say it out loud, but he could understand Hikaru's anger. If he had any friends or family (once more he saw flashes of three silhouettes before they disappeared), and they were getting hurt he was sure that he would lose himself in anger just like the future Hikaru was doing.
"I don't know how it is for demons since I have never been one nor have I been around many of them but for humans, there is only so much of one emotion that we can take. If we continue to feel the same emotion too much it will all boil over and it can take over us. As a result of that emotion taking over, we turn into people we would never wish to be and we will take actions we would normally despise. And.... And sometimes because of that we turn into monsters that can't even bare to look at themselves," Hikaru's last words came out as a whisper.
'Is that how he sees himself because of his anger, as a monster? He fights demons and yet he thinks because of the anger that he is feeling in the future he is a monster. Is his anger truly that bad? is it anything like that time?' Akaza thought. He wasn't sure how he knew but he just knew that when he had first become a demon he was overwhelmed by pure fury, much like he guessed future Hikaru was feeling, maybe even more anger then him.
