No one was sure what they should do especially after Hikaru had dragged Sanemi off. They really didn't want to spread out and stumble upon them while Hikaru was trying to calm the wind hashira down.
"So, am I the only one that is wondering what exactly Hikaru had on Sanemi that makes him listen to him?" Uzui questioned.
"No, I think we all want to know that" Rengoku admitted and got nods in return.
"I don't think that Hikaru has anything on Sanemi, I just think that Sanemi knows that if they fight Hikaru would hesitate to fight back and he doesn't want to hurt his friend," Shinobu was the one to say this.
"Friends? Do you honestly think that they are friends?" Obanai scoffed. In the hashira's he and Sanemi were close, but they wouldn't go as far as to call each other friends. (They were both defiantly friends, they just refuse to admit it).
"Everyone sees friendship in different ways, so I am sure in his own way, Sanemi sees Hikaru as his friend," Ubuyashiki smiled.
"I do think that he is angry because he is worried about you Genya," Tanjiro smiled as he looked at the boy that was around his age who just scoffed.
"Yeah right, just shut up and stop talking to me," Genya glared. He wasn't saying it, but he had thought him and Sanemi were making progress but now.... Now they were probably back to how they were before.
"Believe me, I'm an older brother myself so I think I can understand why Sanemi lashed out like that," Tanjiro said. Genya just wanted him to stop trying to make him feel better when he knew it wasn't true. "After all I have no doubt that Sanemi was actually worried about you but since he only knows how to show his emotions in anger so that's what he did."
Genya looked at Tanjiro trying to figure out exactly how he came to that thought when Sanemi had not shown his worry for Genya ever since that incident. Instead all he showed was his anger. Then again, now that Genya thought about it, wasn't Sanemi always like that when one of their siblings got into trouble or were hurt? Was his brother actually worried about him but unable to show it properly? Genya really liked the thought of that.

"You calm now?" Hikaru asked as he rubbed his cheek that was starting to bruise. Sanemi hadn't meant to hit Hikaru and the moment that he did, he had frozen stiff and looked like he was horrified with himself. It had been on accident when Hikaru had pulled Sanemi away, the wind hashira had tried to get free and break out of Hikaru's hold and as a result he had accidently elbowed Hikaru's cheek.
"Yeah," Sanemi wouldn't meet his eyes.
"Good," Hikaru said as they both stood near the river. The silence dragged on, waiting for one of them to break it.
