The next morning, out in a wide grassy field, several students were preparing for the Founder's Pyre the following evening. Some students were gathering multiple long sticks while the telekinetic students lifted the branches up and placed them into the giant bonfire, which had an in progress bird sculpture at the top made of the sticks.

"There hasn't been a Pyre since my days at Nevermore." Morticia commented.

Principal Dort turned to her with excitement. "Yes! It's a marvel what these DaVinci students can build. They have more creativity in their right pinkies than I have in my entire body." He quickly turned to one of the students. "This thing's gonna work right?"

The student gave him a thumbs up.

"Outcast can-do! Love it!" He exclaimed. "This is why tradition is so important. It instills pride in our children. Principal Weems was all about fitting into the Normie World. No disrespect. I know you two were old friends." He told Morticia.

She just hummed in response.

"Now, the Addams family is a prime example of Outcasts who don't bend to Normie culture. And that is a testament to you, Mrs. Addams." He complimented.

Morticia chuckled. "Thank you."

"Have you made your decision about chairing the gala?" Principal Dort wondered.

"I'm...still pondering." Morticia admitted. "I want to do what's best for Nevermore, but also for my family."

He nodded. "I understand. That is a lot to balance. Which is why you would have a liaison student to assist you. And I am on the hunt for that perfect person."

Bianca suddenly walked up to the two with a smile. "Look no further. She's here."

Principal Dort smiled widely. "Mrs. Addams, Bianca Barclay, one of our best and brightest."

"It would be an honor to work with a Nevermore legend." Bianca complimented.

"Come to the pyre tonight, see what we're trying to build, and then decide if you want to be involved." He offered.

Wednesday entered his room to see (Y/n) and Enid in there. Enid holding a card while something wrapped in paper sat a few feet away.

"From Xavier." Enid said, opening the card. "Dear Wednesday, I tried texting, but I guess you lost the phone I gave you." She looked up. "You have a phone?"

"I dropped it in the bath." Wednesday explained. And by that, he meant he boiled it. He then unwrapped the package to reveal a large painting of a one-eyed crow, a (f/f) in its beak, standing on a gravestone surrounded by other flying crows.

"Consider this my goodbye gift." Enid continued. "The image suddenly flashed in my head. Don't ask me how I know or what it means, but it's connected to you, I'm sure. Who's Wednesday Addams without a mystery to solve, right? Xavier."

"A creepy, one-eyed crow on a headstone. Does he know you or what?" (Y/n) joked. "What's it mean?"

"No idea."
