Chapter 5: Secret Meeting

Enid sat in the middle of a field with Bruno, a picnic blanket on the ground. She had finished telling Bruno about the situation involving Wednesday, as he listened intently.

"You're right. Wednesday can't take down a Hyde alone. And Wednesday's right too. You did get lucky." He told her.

Enid huffed. "Okay, not exactly the kind of support I was looking for."

"You're being hunted by an apex predator outside of our lunar cycle." He reminded her. "Perhaps going home for a few weeks isn't such a bad idea. You can't take on Tyler alone."

Enid's eyes suddenly lit up with an idea and she got up from the picnic blanket and started running back towards the school.

She burst into her dorm room to see (Y/n) sitting on her bed.

"(Y/n), where's Thing?" She asked.

(Y/n) jumped a bit at her sudden entrance but gestured to the trunk that had been converted to his home and he crawled out.

"Thank god. Okay, we cannot take on Tyler by ourselves. I need your guys' help to reactivate the Nightshades." She requested.

Ajax was sitting by the werewolf statue in the quad scrolling through his phone, not noticing Thing slip an envelope into his backpack.

When Ajax turned to put his phone in his bag, he noticed the envelope and pulled it out. He opened it and found a card for Nightshades Society inviting him to a meeting in Iago Tower at 10pm.

He quickly gathered his things and walked away, not seeing Agnes appear behind him, a curious smile on her face.

"Slurp! Slurp! Come out, boy! It's me!" Pugsley called into the forest. "No one's gonna hurt you. Please."

Gomez came up next to him, and sighed. "Pugsley, we've been at this for hours. I'm not one to admit defeat but...Slurp found better pastures to roam in. Let's go. Let's go home." He insisted.

The two of them made their way back onto the main road and saw several people dressed in skeleton costumes all heading in one direction.

"What a motley skeleton crew. Where are you all headed?" Gomez asked one of the people.

"Pilgrim World." He replied, handing him a flyer.

"Los Spooky Noches." Gomez read. Apparently pilgrim world was having a Day of the Dead celebration.

"Can we go dad? Please?" Pugsley pleaded.

Gomez held up a finger. "Don't tell your mother."

"Yes!"

The two piled into the car, and Lurch drove them towards pilgrim world, unaware of the zombie watching them from the trees...
