"William Faulkner said, The past is never dead. It's not even the past. In fact, it's all still happening."

Deep in the forest surrounding Nevermore, several deputies and bloodhounds were searching the woods for any sign of Pugsley and (Y/n).

"If Isaac's goal is to save his sister, why take Pugsley and (Y/n)? What does a brain eating genius need with my half-wit brother and another Hyde?"

...

Sheriff Santiago sat at the desk in the office of the now late Principal Dort.

"No sign of your son, or (Y/n)." She told them. "Any idea why someone would kidnap them?"

Gomez shrugged. "It's a total mystery, sheriff."

"Can you think of anyone who has a grudge against your family? Could this be some kind of revenge?"

Morticia narrowed her eyes. "Are you blaming us for our son and future daughter-in-law's kidnapping?"

Sheriff Santiago shook her head. "The search parties will run through the night. Parents who are at the gala have already left with their kids. All other students will be packed up and on their way home by tomorrow afternoon. I'm sorry, we're doing everything we can."

Just outside the office doors, Wednesday stood around the corner, listening to everything being said, and felt anger rising in him.

If they were really doing everything they can, they would've found his girlfriend and little brother. He knew the police wouldn't do much.

Looks like he'd have to take matters into his own hands...

...

"I've sent your father and Lurch out to join the search parties."

Morticia and Wednesday were back at Rotwood's cottage, standing in the kitchen.

"They won't find them." Wednesday told his mother. "Isaac's too smart."

Weems was standing between them, glancing back and forth between the two. "You need to work together, and to pool your psychic abilities to locate them."

"Well, my mother is a Dove who's blind to malevolence, and my psychic ability is currently on an unauthorized leave of absence." Wednesday snapped.

Weems turned to Morticia. "That's why you must turn to the other Raven in your family."

Her eyes widened. "My mother?"

"These are desperate times." She emphasized.

...

Several moments later, Hester Frump arrived at the cottage at Morticia's request and now stood in the living room, Varcose pouring her a drink.

"Mama, I appreciate you coming back on such short notice."

"Why would anyone bother kidnapping Pugsley and Wednesday's girlfriend?" Hester wondered aloud. "Not to cast aspersions, but I know higher value corpses than those two."
