The Distance Between Us and Forever

Back at his desk, the 3:00 PM coffee had finally kicked in, but it wasn't the caffeine making Yoongi's heart race.

He had the Darry Ring website open in a hidden tab.

Jun was right-the "One Ring, One Life" rule was exactly what he had been looking for.

But as he scrolled down to the store locator, his brow furrowed.

Zero results for Seoul.

"Hey, Jun-sshi," Yoongi called out softly over the partition, his voice tight with a new kind of focus.

Jun rolled his chair back over, eyes scanning Yoongi's screen.

"Ah, yeah. I forgot to mention. No boutiques in Korea. Most people just order online, but..."

"But I want her to try it on," Yoongi interrupted, his voice firm.

He wasn't about to leave a soulmate decision to a digital shopping cart.

"I want to see it on her hand before I register my Min-jeung."

Jun grinned, leaning back.

"Well, if you're really serious about the 'True Love' experience, the closest flagship is in Hong Kong. It's a short flight, Yoongi-sshi. A little 'weekend trip' for the soul?"

Yoongi didn't say anything at first.

He looked at the calendar on his desk.

This weekend was packed-they had the big photoshoot scheduled, a long-overdue project that would require all their focus.

But the weekend after?

He opened a new tab and searched for flights from Incheon to Hong Kong for the following Friday night.

There were several evening flights after his shift ended.

He could pack their stuff in his bag in the morning then pick her up from her office after work, drive straight to the airport, and have her in Tsim Sha Tsui by midnight.

"Fighting, Yoongi-sshi!" Jun whispered with a thumbs-up before scurrying back to his filing.

At 6:00 PM, Yoongi was in his usual spot outside the Korea Yakult Office.

He watched Aen walk toward the car, her smile as bright as the evening lights of Gangnam.

He did the routine perfectly-taking her bag, opening the door, and checking the door frame before clicking it shut with a firm, protective sound.

"So," Aen said as they merged into the heavy traffic, "are we heading back to the atelier? I feel like we're starting to overstay our welcome with that poor designer."

Yoongi gripped the steering wheel, a secret smile playing on his lips.

He thought about the flight confirmation already waiting in his email.

He thought about the photoshoot they had to get through first-the last hurdle before the real surprise.

"Actually," Yoongi said, his voice smooth and calm, "I think we should take a break from the ring hunt for now. We have the photoshoot tomorrow, and I want us to be focused for that, Jagi."

Aen looked at him, slightly surprised but nodding in agreement.

"You're right, Yoon. A little reset might be good. Maybe the right one will show up when we aren't looking so hard."
