The Friday Registration
The days after Hong Kong dissolved into a quite blur of unpacking, final document translations, and late-night conversations than ran deep into the morning.
The wedding rings were tucked away for now, but the weight of what they represented had only grown.
By Friday, the anticipation had shifted into a focused, gravity-defying calm.
The Seoul morning was crisp, the sky a pale, hazy blue that promised heat later in the day.
Yoongi had been awake since five, moving through the apartment with the disciplined, quiet precision of a man on a deployment timeline.
By 8:45 AM, they were idling in the front seats of his black car, parked a block away from the Yongsan Gu-cheong.
"Ready, Jagi?" Yoongi asked, checking the time on his phone.
He was dressed in a tailored, midnight-blue overcoat over a crisp, slate-grey button-down.
He looked sharp-dangerously so-like a man who owned the city he was about to sign his name into.
Aen clutched her folder of documents-her passport and the translated affidavit-to her chest.
She had chosen a structured lavender blazer with matching high-waisted trousers-a soft, muted neutral that picked up the blue tones in his coat.
"It feels more official than the rings, doesn't it?"
"The rings are for us," Yoongi murmured, reaching over to squeeze her hand.
"This is for the record. The Korean Government doesn't care about sentiment, Aen-ah-it cares about status."
He shifted the car into gear, a small, triumphant smirk playing on his lips as he checked his mirrors.
"At least the Soulmate System Act has its perks. Being able to file for a 'Synchronization Leave' from both our offices was surprisingly easy. Neither the military command nor your CEO plays around when it comes to soulmate marriage registration."
He drove them toward the side entrance of the government building with practiced, steady hands.
As he pulled into a restricted spot, he turned off the engine and looked at her, the "Agent" mask dropping for a split second.
"Once we walk in there, it's permanent. You ready to be a Min? No more separate entities. Just one household in the eyes of the law."
"More than ready, Yoon."

Inside, the air smelled of floor wax and old paper.
Because they had filed for official leave under the Soulmate System Act, a designated officer was already waiting in a semi-private booth, away from the early morning queue of residents.
As they approached the booth, Aen noticed four familiar figures already standing in the shadows of the hallway, dressed in low-key hoodies and caps.
Namjoon, Jimin, Taehyung, and Jungkook had arrived quietly, slipping through the side entrance to stand as a living wall of support.
Yoongi offered them a sharp, knowing nod-a silent thank you.
He pulled out his Dojang-his personal seal-and placed it on the desk next to the Hon-in Sin-go form.
He had already filled out the witness section.
Namjoon and Jimin had officially inked their names in the primary boxes, but Taehyung and Jungkook stood close enough to lean over the counter, their presence turning the small booth into a sanctuary.
