The Weight of Forgiveness

When the ambulance arrived, Aen was taken to the nearest hospital where doctors immediately treated her burn.

Thankfully, the liquid hadn't penetrated her skin deeply because she had been wearing her thick coat, but she was still given medicine to relieve the stinging pain.

Yoongi took her home afterward, staying by her side until her breathing evened out.

When he deemed that she was finally asleep, he stepped out into the living room and called his manager.

"Hello, Yoongi-sshi."

"Hello, Hyung-nim... I need a favor to ask."

"Is it about Aen's incident at the café?"

"Yes. I want to file a lawsuit against that girl."

"On it. I'll call the company lawyer as soon as we hang up. Let's meet tomorrow to discuss the details."

"Yeah... That would be great, Hyung-nim. Thank you."

"No problem. I hope Aen gets better soon."

"Thanks..."

Yoongi ended the call and went straight back to the bedroom.

He watched Aen sleeping peacefully, a stark contrast to the painful expression she had worn only hours before.

He gently sat on the edge of the mattress and tucked a stray strand of hair behind her ear.

"I'll never let the same thing happen again, Aen-ah..."  he whispered, kissing the top of her head.

"Because I'd rather be the one getting hurt than you."

Breaking news:

Yoongi and Aen were seen holding hands as they exited the courtroom this morning after winning their lawsuit against the individual who assaulted them.

The incident, which went viral after a bystander filmed the girl throwing a hot drink at the couple, resulted in the girl’s conviction.

Public sentiment, especially among the BTS ARMY, has been overwhelmingly supportive of the couple’s decision to seek legal action to protect their safety.

The cameras captured a brief moment where Yoongi adjusted Aen’s coat over her shoulder, his hand lingering as if to shield the area where the burn had been.

While the conviction brought a legal end to the incident, the broadcast footage captured a couple looking weary but deeply united.

Aen clicked off the television, the silence in the room feeling heavy after the news anchor finished announcing their legal victory.

"You okay, Jagi?" Yoongi asked softly.

"Hmmm."

"Are you still mad at me?"

"Hmmm."

"Aen-ah..."

"..."

Yoongi gently sat beside her on the couch.

"Jagiya... please... talk to me..."

"..."

Yoongi sighed.

Breaking the news about the lawsuit had made Aen incredibly upset.
