Safe Harbor
The tropical air was thick, fragrant with frangipani and the salt of the Indian Ocean-a sharp, refreshing, and entirely welcome contrast to the dry, recycled air of the cabin.
It was 7:00 in the morning when the private jet touched down on the tarmac in Mahé.
By 8:00 AM, the world of headlines, and heavy expectations had been left far behind, replaced by the rhythmic hum of a helicopter whisking them away toward their private sanctuary at the Anantara Maia Seychelles Villas.
This was Aen's first time in a helicopter, and for the first few minutes, she had been glued to the window, her hands pressed against the glass.
The sensation of flight was so different here-lower, visceral, and terrifyingly beautiful.
As the chopper banked over the turquoise expanse, she watched the jagged granite islands rise out of the ocean like emeralds dropped into blue ink.
Beside her, Yoongi didn't look at the scenery at all.
He spent the entire flight watching Aen, his gaze anchored to her profile as she took in the world below with wide, breathless wonder.
Every time she gasped at a new stretch of coastline or turned to him with a brilliant, stunned smile, his heart felt like it was expanding in his chest.
Seeing her so unrestrained, so vividly alive in this moment of discovery, was worth more to him than any view the islands could offer.
She felt a strange, lingering hum in her bones from the long-haul flight, and the sheer scale of the journey felt surreal-like they had crossed not just an ocean, but a divide between two lifetimes.
When the helicopter finally touched down on the private helipad, the silence that greeted them was absolute.
There were no crowds.
There was no security detail hovering in their periphery.
There was only the sound of palm fronds rustling in the breeze and the distant, rhythmic crash of waves against granite boulders.
A personal butler, trained to be as unobtrusive as a shadow, stood by the entrance of their villa, offering a silent, respectful bow before gesturing toward the sprawling, open-air estate that would be theirs for the week.
Yoongi held her hand tightly not to hurt.
As they walked toward the villa, he felt the slight tremor in her grip-partly from the adrenaline of the helicopter ride, and partly from the residual nerves of a woman who was still processing the magnitude of it all.
They weren't just in a new country; they were standing on the threshold of an entirely new life, finally free to be nothing but themselves.
They were, at last, completely, utterly safe.
He stopped them just before they crossed the threshold of the villa's grand entrance.
He turned, pulling her into the shade of the overhanging palms, and searched her face, his gaze looking for any sign of overwhelm.
"You okay, Yeobo?" he asked softly, his thumb tracing the back of her hand.
"Between the long flight and your first helicopter ride, you've had a busy morning."
Aen looked up at him, then out toward the horizon where the sun was beginning to climb, turning the Indian Ocean into a shimmering sheet of liquid gold.
She took a deep breath, filling her lungs with the sweet, humid air, and for the first time in years, she didn't feel the need to look behind her.
"I'm more than okay," she whispered, her voice steadying.
"Tired but it was... incredible. I just can't believe it's this quiet."
"It's ours," Yoongi promised, his eyes darkening with a promise that had nothing to do with the world they had left behind.
"All of it. For as long as we're here, there's no one else. Just us."
He squeezed her hand, a silent signal that they were home.
They stepped over the threshold, and as the heavy wooden doors closed behind them, shutting out the rest of the world, they finally walked into their own private paradise.

The villa was everything they had hoped for-a seamless blend of luxury and nature.
After the butler retreated, leaving them with a table laden with fresh papaya, mango, and steaming milk and coffee, they ate in a comfortable, happy silence.
The fatigue was starting to settle into their bones-a heavy, pleasant weight that felt like a reward after the whirlwind of the last few days.
"The villa has an incredible stone soaking tub," Yoongi murmured, his eyes tracking the way the morning light danced across the sea mist.
"We can wash off the travel, and then..."
He didn't need to finish.
Aen smiled and nodded, feeling her eyelids grow heavy.
They moved to the bathroom-an open-air sanctuary that blurred the line between the villa and the island.
The steam from the water rose to meet the cool morning breeze, scenting the air with hints of citrus and sea salt.
As they lowered themselves into the warmth, the last traces of exhaustion dissolved.
It was just the two of them, the soft sound of water, and the quiet intimacy of being entirely alone.
Aen settled back against Yoongi, her head resting on his chest, her eyes closing as the heat seeped into her muscles.
Yoongi held her, his arms wrapped securely around her waist, his chin resting lightly atop her head.
He began to murmur about the plans for the week, his voice a low, rhythmic vibration against her back, speaking of beach walks and quiet dinners under the stars.
He continued for a few moments, his tone gentle and laced with promise, before he realized her responses had ceased.
He went silent, blinking as the realization settled over him.
Aen wasn't just relaxing; she had drifted off, her breathing slow and steady, completely surrendered to the peace of the island.
A fond smile touched his lips as he held her still, careful not to wake her.
She looked so small and peaceful in the water, the tension that had lived in her shoulders for months finally replaced by the stillness of sleep.
He didn't move.
He simply held her there, watching the sunlight shift across the water, content to just be her anchor until she was ready to wake.
Eventually, though, he knew he couldn't leave her to wake up in the tub.
With slow, deliberate care, he lifted her from the water, wrapped her in a plush, warm towel, and carried her to the massive, cool-sheeted bed where the sheer curtains were already fluttering rhythmically in the ocean breeze.
He laid her down, pulling the covers up to her shoulders before sliding in beside her.
He pulled her into his chest, his own breath already slowing, his heart beating a steady, familiar rhythm against her own.
They didn't need to see the island just yet.
For now, the best part of paradise wasn't the view or the luxury-it was simply the ability to close their eyes, knowing that when they woke up, they would still be here, and they would still be each other's.
The world could wait.
The "Min Household" had finally arrived at the only place that mattered.
