Chapter 40

The Confession and the Plan

After Aen had calmed down, Yoongi called Manager Sejin again.

He apologized for ending their call so abruptly and politely requested a meeting with Bang PD-nim at the office around 1:00 PM-together with the boys and Aen.

After the call, he sent a message to the group chat about the meeting.

He felt a wave of relief knowing the guys had been so supportive when he finally told them that he and Aen were officially together.

Everything was going smoothly, except for Aen's hesitation, which he knew he needed to dissipate.

"Do I really need to go with you?" Aen kept asking.

"Is it really okay for me to be there?"

"Aen-ah... I need you there."

"But I'm worried they won't like someone like me..."

"Jagi, what nonsense are you talking?"

"W-what?"

Aen looked taken aback.

Yoongi has never called her that.

In fact... not even her ex called her that.

"What?" Yoongi asked, realizing what he'd just said.

"Oh... ah... uhmm... I..." He scratched the back of his head, a slight blush creeping onto his face.

"Am I... not allowed to call you that?"

Aen blushed hard but shook her head.

"No... it's okay. It’s just... the first time someone has called me that. I wasn't... mentally prepared."

She buried her face in her hands.

Yoongi chuckled.

"I guess we'll both get used to it in time. If it's any consolation, Aen-ah, you're the first person I've ever called by such an endearment."

They looked into each other's eyes and shared a light, nervous laugh.

Aen felt her anxiety peaking the moment they stepped inside the Big Hit building.

People looked at them curiously; some even whispered as they passed.

Yoongi, however, kept assuring her by keeping their hands firmly clasped together.

​When they reached the meeting floor, Yoongi led her to a bench near the heavy double doors of the conference room..

Her nerves were skyrocketing.

"Aen-ah... it's going to be fine. You have to calm down." he said softly, standing in front of her.

"I know... but Yoon... what if I messed up?"

"You won't. I'm here. You'll be fine. We're just clarifying our relationship to the company before we tell the world."

"What if they don't approve of us?" She looked up at him, her eyes searching for a guarantee he couldn't technically give, but he gave it anyway.

"They will. I already told the boys, and they’re really supportive."

"I see... are... are Tae and JK still mad? About the hospital?"
