Happy Wife, Happy Life
A few days after the whirlwind of the Golden Disc Awards, the apartment was quiet again.
Aen was sitting at the kitchen island, nursing a warm glass of water while the afternoon sunlight filtered through the frost on the windows.
On the tablet propped against the counter, a live-streamed Naver NOW. broadcast played softly, featuring Yoo Jae-suk seated across from Yoongi looking relaxed in a simple black cardigan in the cozy, neon-lit studio.
She smiled, watching him field the usual polite questions about his creative process on his solo era and the massive success of his recent tracks despite the group not being complete.
But as the interview neared the end, the atmosphere in the studio shifted ever so slightly.
Jae-suk offered a smooth, practiced smile, leaning into his mic with the easy familiarity of an older brother who couldn't resist a bit of gentle teasing.
"Min PD-nim," Jae-suk began, his eyes crinkling behind his glasses, "your music lately feels so deeply rooted in personal growth, family, and home. Naturally, fans and media have been curious about the shift in your public life-especially with you being married now and a little one is on the way. Some online communities have been asking... well, was a sudden autumn wedding last year inevitable because of the pregnancy?"
The question was wrapped in Jae-suk's trademark blend of broadcast polish and playful curiosity, but the underlying implication-that they had rushed into marriage strictly because of an unexpected pregnancy-hung heavy in the air.
On screen, the live chat exploded with frantic scrolling comments.
In the kitchen, Aen's breath hitched slightly, her hand pausing over her glass.
Yoongi didn't flinch.
He didn't tense up or flash that sharp, warning glare he usually reserved for intrusive reporters.
Instead, a slow, completely unbothered chuckle slipped past his lips.
He leaned back into the chair, resting one elbow on the armrest, and looked straight into the camera lens with a calm, absolute certainty.
"A sudden wedding?" Yoongi repeated smoothly, his voice low and steady.
He offered a faint, amused look right back at the host.
"People really love making up timelines, don't they? Well, to sum it up: the wedding wasn't sudden at all. Neither was the baby. It was all inevitable. We're married."
Jae-suk blinked, momentarily caught off guard by the sheer, unfiltered bluntness before letting out a sharp laugh.
"Right, of course-everyone saw the official announcements and celebration photos posted on the official accounts..."
"No," Yoongi interrupted gently, cutting off the assumption with a polite wave of his hand.
"That was just the wedding celebration and reception with our families and close friends. We've actually been legally married around summer of last year."
The studio went dead silent.
Behind the camera, someone's sharp intake of breath was faintly audible, and across the globe, millions of viewers-and the entire internet-collectively stopped breathing.
Yoongi didn't blink an eye at the absolute chaos he had just unleashed.
He rested his chin on his knuckles, his expression softening into something impossibly fond as he thought of the woman sitting miles away in their living room.
