Mercy
Days passed by, and Yoongi and Aen kept in touch with each other since they were friends now.
They had already exchanged numbers, and Yoongi would text or call her, asking how she was doing.
It had become a routine for the both of them, and the awkwardness between them started to dissipate as time went by.
The phone calls that used to feel like obligations were now the highlights of their evenings.

Aen's day off started with her cleaning her shared apartment with Angel when suddenly she received a call.
One of the police officers who had interviewed her at the hospital asked her to go to the station as soon as possible since the suspect behind her accident had turned himself in.
When she arrived there, Yoongi was already waiting for her, which puzzled her.
Yoongi then told her that he had asked the police officer to call him as well when the suspect got caught.
He wasn't about to let her face the person who hurt her alone.
Neither expected the guy would turn himself in on his own.

"Ms. Palma-sshi, would you like to p
"Uhm, before I do that, can I speak to him?"
"Of course."
Yoongi was taken aback, his brows slightly furrowed.
"Why would you like to talk to him?"
"Because I want to ask him why he did that."
The police officer brought the suspect in and had him sit in front of Aen and Yoongi.
He looked ashamed for what he had done, keeping his head down and refusing to look at either of them.
"Ji-hoon-sshi?" Aen carefully asked.
"Y-yes?"
"How are you?"
Shocked, he looked at Aen.
"W-what? S-shouldn't I be the one to ask you t-that?"
Confusion was written on his face.
"Well, as you can see, I'm okay now. Just a few bruises still, but they will heal in time."
She smiled at him.
"Ohh... T-that's... That's g-good to know."
"So... If it's okay with you, can you tell me, why? Why you left me when you knew I got hurt from what you did?"
He looked down.
"I'm sorry. I... I never meant to leave you like that i-in such a hurry. "
"Then why did you leave?"
Yoongi suddenly spat.
His voice was cold, and his posture was rigid.
The boy looked at them, fear clearly shown on his face.
"I... I was scared. I... I panic... I didn't want to go to jail. I'm still... studying. And m-my mom, she'll be left behind. S-she still needs me. That's why-"
Yoongi suddenly stood up, slamming his hands onto the metal table with a loud crack.
The sound echoed like a gunshot in the small room.
