The Aftertaste

The heavy, soundproof door of their Hannam The Hill suite hadn't even fully clicked into its frame before the atmosphere fractured.

The absolute silence of the private corridor stood in sharp, sterile contrast to the soft jazz and clinking crystal of The Shilla-but the electric tension they had carried out of that tasting room was louder than any symphony.

Yoongi didn't head for the kitchen to put away his keys.

Instead, he dropped them on the console table and turned, his back against the door, watching Aen as she kicked off her heels.

"You were very bold today, Jagi," he murmured, his voice echoing the low, gravelly tone he'd used at the cake table.

Aen paused, standing in her stockings on the cool floor.

She looked up at him through her lashes, that same mischievous glint from the Shilla returning to her eyes.

"I don't know what you mean. I was just making sure you didn't walk around with frosting on your face. Logistics, remember?"

"Logistics," Yoongi repeated, a slow, dangerous smirk spreading across his face.

He took a step toward her, closing the distance until the heat radiating from him was unmistakable.

"Is that what we're calling it when you taste me in front of the most elite pastry chef in Seoul?"

He reached out, his hand lifting to mimic the exact, provocative movement she had executed at the cake table, dragging the pad of his thumb across the curve of her lower lip.

"You said it was 'completely delicious,'" he murmured, leaning down until his ragged breath hitched directly against her jawline.

"But I think you missed a spot."

Aen's breath was caught in her throat.

The "Zero" on her wrist wasn't just pulsing now; it was humming, a rhythmic vibration that synchronized perfectly with the heavy thud of her heart.

She reached up, her hands settling on the lapels of his dark blazer, pulling him just an inch closer.

"Then maybe you should show me what I missed," she challenged, her voice barely a breath.

Yoongi didn't need a second invitation.

He didn't go for her lips immediately.

Instead, he tilted her head back, his mouth finding the sensitive curve of her neck, right where her perfume lingered.

Aen let out a soft, broken gasp, her fingers tightening on his jacket.

"I told you," he murmured against her skin, his hands sliding down to grip her waist, pulling her flush against him.

"Next time, I'd be the one doing the tasting."

The "Secret Min" world outside didn't matter.

The wedding plans, the schedules, the five-tier cake-it all faded into the background.

In the dimly lit foyer, there was only the scent of lavender, the lingering sweetness of vanilla, and the heat of a promise finally being kept.

Yoongi's mouth moved from the curve of her neck back to her face, his eyes dark and focused.

He didn't rush.
