"Y/N?" My maths teacher called out, catching my attention immediately.

My head snapped up as I took my gaze away from the wooden desk that I was picking at with my finger nails; the amount of chipped edges and pen marks that tarnished the newness of the table was enough to make any OCD filled person burst. I saw my teacher walking towards me with a pile of opened exercise books in her hand. She smiled at me as she placed the book from the top of the pile on my desk in front of me.

"You were the only one to get the extension question right," she nodded at the page before me. "Congratulations. You got full marks."

For a person who isn't very good at maths, I was pretty shocked. And seeing as I didn't believe her words, I looked down to my book to see if she was being honest.

She was.

All of my questions had ticks beside them in red pen, and at the bottom of the page was a smiley face and a number that meant a certain amount of green points that she had given me for having a correct homework. But, I didn't care about the points. I cared about this being the first piece of maths homework that I had done where all the answers were right.

When I looked back up, she was handing out the rest of the books to other students. I don't think I would have thanked her anyway. I mean, what am I thanking her for? Giving me the homework? I definitely wasn't thankful for that.

"Psst, Y/N!" I heard a familiar voice whisper-shout to me. "Y/N!"

I turned my body around in my chair, only to become face to face with Y/BF/N. She was wearing a wary smile as she spoke up.

"What did you get on your homework?"

I looked back down at my book, just to double check that it was really correct, before looking back up and saying, "Full marks."

Her jaw dropped and she stared at me with wide eyes. "Full marks?! How on earth did you manage that? I thought you couldn't even do the last question!"

It was all thanks to Lauren.

But, I didn't say that. I still wasn't planning on telling her that her idol had replied to me on Twitter. How could I even go about that? It's not something you can just bring up in a conversation, is it?

"I don't know," I lied as best as I could, hoping my voice wasn't getting higher. I tend to do that when I lie, or so I've been told. "What about you? What did you get?"

She sighed and leaned her head in her hands. "Nine out of twenty. I told you I wasn't good at maths."

I smiled reassuringly at her. "Don't worry, Y/BF/N. It's only one homework. And it's not like it counts for anything. Right?"

She shrugged and I didn't bother trying to cheer her up anymore because I could tell that she genuinely didn't care if she did bad. She was never really one for doing work.

I turned back around to face the front and a smile subconsciously formed on my face as I remembered that I could tell Lauren that her help worked. I definitely knew that after that though, we wouldn't talk again. I didn't really have a problem with it because I didn't expect our talk to continue. It was just one of those things

As soon as I arrived home, I got changed out of my annoying school uniform and collapsed onto my bed in exhaustion. You would think that it being the first month back to school and all, that they wouldn't overload you with homework, but nope. I guess that's kind of expected for your last year of high school.
