"Are you serious?"
I placed my hands on my hips incredulously and knitted my eyebrows together, studying the sheepish smile on Y/BF/N's face.
"I'm sorry!" She exclaimed apologetically, standing up from the couch that was placed for customers to use when waiting in the shop. "But, my mum needs me home immediately!"
I sighed and ran my hands through my hair exasperatedly. "Okay. But, what about my dress? You bought yours and you know I'm bad at choosing."
She motioned to a nearby worker and said, "There's workers here to help! That lady with the blonde hair looks nice enough." I raised an eyebrow and she laughed, moving forward and placing a hand on my shoulder, squeezing it reassuringly. "Don't worry, Y/N. You aren't-" her eyes trailed me up and down, "-completely useless."
I smacked her shoulder and she laughed again. Letting go of my shoulder, she grabbed her bag from the couch hurriedly and placed it on her shoulder. She shared one more hug with me before smiling again.
"Send me a picture of the dress you buy!" She shouted before walking past other shoppers and eventually out the shop.
I released a sigh and turned around, looking into the mirror at my reflection. A white silk dress hugged my body and a black bow adorned the waist, wrapping securely around my waist. It was a beautiful dress, but honestly? I felt stupid in it. It looked too good for me. I groaned in annoyance - why did Y/BF/N have to leave?
"As beautiful as you look in that dress, I think you should try this," a feminine voice caught my attention.
I turned around and saw the same blonde that Y/BF/N was talking about. She was holding a short navy blue dress in her hand that was hung on a hanger. (The one above) A warm, kind smile was etched on her face and her intense blue eyes seemed friendly enough. Looks like Y/BF/N was right about her being nice.
"I guess," I shrugged, moving forward and taking the dress.
I headed into the nearby changing room and peeled off the other dress, making sure it was hung up correctly on the hanger. I slipped on the other dress and looked in the small mirror, making me sure it was on properly. After seeing it was, I left the changing room and saw the blonde worker sitting on the couch patiently. When she saw me, she stood up and a grin formed on her face.
"You look amazing, dear." She motioned for me to look in the larger mirror beside me.
I nodded and turned around, facing my reflection. I have to admit, I did look better than before and I felt a lot more comfortable, too. A small smile formed on my lips when I saw how different I looked in a dress. But, it was a good different.
"I'm guessing you're buying this?" The woman asked me, and I saw her reflection in the mirror.
"How much is it?"
"Only thirty pounds."
Not too expensive, either. "I'll take it."
We both smiled and she nodded. "Okay, I'll see you at the till in a few." I nodded and assumed she would walk away, but she remained, adding, "By the way, you really do look beautiful."
I blushed a crimson red and looked down, hoping to avoid her seeing. She chuckled as I pushed my glasses up the bridge of my nose, hoping she would walk away. She did.
I sighed in relief and looked back up, smiling again. I really liked the dress. But, before I could admire it anymore, I heard a familiar ringtone and immediately perked up, knowing it was mine. My phone was laying beside my bag on the couch and I rushed over to it, only to see I had an incoming FaceTime call from Lauren. Hm, I wondered what she would want. It was seven in the morning in LA. I answered the call and sat on the couch, waiting for it to connect.
