Pools of tears unshed
They pool up in my throat,
But how can I let the cracks show?
I'm supposed to be The Shoulder.
Those days of sunshine,
And of happiness that embraced the skies,
It seems so distant,
It feels like a dream I dreamt
to keep the shadows away,
They're always lurking,
Ready to bury me in their dark arms.
They say, "face it with a grin,"
I have, yes, I have.
But my muscles ache; give me respite
Sorrows and miseries and the longing for sweet release,
These three are faithful companions mine.
Let the sun peek through,
Dear clouds mine
Erase your gloom,
Lighten yourselves,
Free me from the clutches of my dark beloveds.
