For the first time in the history of our relationship, I wake up before Spencer.

I'm tempted to wake him up and shove it in his face, but instead I go downstairs to the kitchen and start making breakfast.

I check my phone while I wait for our waffle machine to beep.

From: Garcia

Rose! Good morning lovely, Hotch got a call from the Quantico Police Station wanting us to check out a scene. The address is linked, be there by 10!

I glance at the time, we have plenty of time. I finish cooking and set out a plate for Spencer before taking a shower.

By the time I'm out, Spencer is out of bed. I get dressed and put on a bit of makeup, then go downstairs to Spencer.

"I don't know if I should be more impressed by your cooking skills or the fact that you got up before me." I kiss him.

"You're so cute when you sleep, I couldn't wake you up." I take a bite of toast.

"We have to be at this address at 10." I show Spencer the text on my phone.

"I'll go get ready."

Spencer and I meet up with the rest of the team in the police station parking lot.

Spencer, Morgan, Emily and I take one car while JJ, Rossi and Hotch take another.

"So," I flip through the file I just received, "the unsub is taking children from their homes but leaving their tracks spotless." My heart sinks at the pictures of all six children that disappeared in the last few days.

I know this is a case Spencer is going to be very serious about, obviously he always is and is a very hard worker, but when it comes to kids he turns aggressive and seeks the unsub in a harsher way.
-

We all get out of the car, "Alright I'm going to have a look around and talk with the parents, why don't you guys have a look around outside, see if you can spot an entry point." I walk toward the house.

"Spencer." I call him and he follows me in.

"Hi, I'm SSA Marina Rose, this is Doctor Spencer Reid we're with the Behavioral Analyst Unit of the FBI, do you mind if we ask you a couple questions about your son, Marcus?"
The couple holds each other close, both with looks of exhaustion.

"Of course."

The Butlers guide us to their dining room table. I sit down while Spencer stands.

"If it's alright with you I'd like to have a look at Marcus's room."

"Okay." Spencer smiles sadly. Mr. Butler walks him down the hallway showing him to Marcus's room.

Once he comes back, I begin my questions.

"Is Marcus pretty social? Does he talk to mailmen, store employees, anyone publicly you might be familiar with?"

"No," Mr. Butler speaks up.

"He's more of a lone wolf, he likes to read a lot, and play checkers by himself." I nod, imagining young Reid.

"Does he get bullied?"

"His favorite teacher has called us a few times regarding some kids not... clicking with Marcus. He says Marcus just needs to find someone who likes him as much as he likes them, and he'll be set." Favorite teacher making house calls about Marcus not making friends?

"Do you mind letting me know what this teacher's name is?"

"Brian Wright, he's Marcus's English teacher."
