"Maybe this isn't a good idea."

"Not a good idea? Doctor, don't you doubt yourself now." Spencer rolls his eyes at me.

"Well we're early, if you want to turn around now, we still can." I toy with my seatbelt, waiting for his decision.

"Maybe this is too soon, I really shouldn't even be here."

"What? Oh right, because you got fired... Well, what do you want to do? I can drop you off at home or you can check in with your team... This won't be your only chance to see them, remember." We sit in silence long enough for me to make a decision for him.

"Alright, I'll take you home, you need to work on your case anyway." I back out of my parking spot and stop the car to switch it into drive; in the brief moment we're stopped, Derek walks by and catches sight of Spencer. Before he can stop us I quickly exit the parking lot and head home. Derek of course, calls me, at least three times.

I drop my keys onto the kitchen counter and watch as Spencer clumsily takes off his shoes.

"I know you have to go, but can I ask you something?" I rest my stomach against the kitchen island, and lay my arms on the cool granite.

"What's up?" I can tell he blurted that out whether he wanted to or not.

"I'm not assuming anything, but did you see anyone while I was gone?" I furrow my brows.

"Sure, I mean I still went to work and all that." He awkwardly stands and stares at the ground.

"No, I mean, did you see anyone, romantically." I stand up.

"Why are we talking about this now?" I check the time and pick my keys back up.

"It's been bothering me, I'm sorry I brought it up." I sigh. He looks down and nervously bites his lip.

"I didn't know what we were. You were gone and I wasn't sure I'd get you back, but no, I didn't." He looks up with relief.

"I'm going to head out, if you need anything just call me." He smiles and nods at me, making me feel at ease.
-

I rush into the conference room due to my tardiness. I sit in the only free chair in between Derek and Emily. Hotch pauses to watch me, then continues on.

"I was starting to think you weren't going to show up." Derek whispers in my ear. I look over at him feeling slightly awkward after our incident this morning.

"We will be heading to Weston, Massachusetts. I will be briefing you on the jet, wheels up in thirty." Everyone quickly starts clearing out of the room, I grip Derek's arm as he starts walking away.

"He wasn't ready... to face all of you. I don't want you to think I left because I'm hiding him." I drop my hand from his arm, and wait for his reaction.

"I don't understand what's going on, but I know you're taking care of him. When I saw him, it's had been so long I felt desperate to see that dork. I wanted, want, to know that he's okay." The relationship Reid and Morgan have, or rather had, has always been something special. Though they tease each other I know for a fact they would take a bullet to save the other.

"I want you to see him, with all that's going on I don't think it's a good idea. There's too little you know, and too much you want to know... Look, I'm about to call him and let him know we're leaving, I'll tell him you want to see him and if he's okay with that, the first thing we do when we get back is go to him." He picks up his bag.

"Thank you, I'll save you a seat on the jet." He smiles and walks out of the room.

Right as he left I call Spencer, he quickly answers.
