I shiver awake. I have a blanket tightly wrapped around me, and Spencer is far on the other side of the bed. I get out of bed and turn the heater on, then go back to Spencer and snuggle into him hoping his heat will transfer to me.

"Good morning." He greets me.

"Jeez, you're freezing." He shifts his body so I can be closer to him.

"It's about negative one hundred degrees in here."

"Hey I have a surprise for you today." His warm hand rubs my back.

"Oh yeah?" I'm finally comfortably warm.

"Yup, but you'll have to wait until tonight."

-

"Can you just tell me what we're doing tonight? Why do you have to make it a surprise?" I sit 'arguing' with Spencer on our living room couch.

"You might as well give up because I'm not telling you. It'll be a fun surprise."

|Spencer|

Tonight is the night I will be proposing to Marina.

"Fine, if you won't tell me I won't get you a Christmas present." She playfully sticks out her tongue.

"I though we were going on vacation." I smirk.

Quite honestly I can't wait until tonight, I hope everything goes to plan, and Marina says yes as I imagine she will.

Marina's phone rings, of course interrupting us.

"Please tell me we don't have to work." She mutters. As much as I love being in the FBI it's always nice having a day off.

"Hey JJ!" I listen into her conversation.

"Uh, yeah he's in the living room with me. Okay." She turns to face me.

"I'll be right back." She disappears upstairs making me curious as ever as to why I can't be in the same room as the woman and her phone.

I hear her voice raise behind a closed door, which I hope is only her being overly excited. There's silence, then a door opening, closing, and the sound of Marina coming down the stairs.

"So?" I anticipate the exciting news.

"Oh um, just some... girl talk..." She has to know as a profiler, or even as her boyfriend I'm not going to believe that.

"You were yelling... over 'girl talk'?" She shrugs.

"JJ... just bought these new pair of heels that are to die for." It sounds true, except she's acting as though she's hiding something.

"Why did you have to leave the room for her to tell you that?"

"Why so many questions?" I frown, I hate when she answers my questions with a question.
-

The more time flew the more anxious I get. Today is the day I will be asking Marina to be in my life forever, because I can't picture myself with anyone else.

"Spence?" My eyes dart up to look at Marina who changed out of my t-shirt and into a loose dark grey shirt and skinny jeans. Her hair in natural waves and her makeup done even though she doesn't need it.

"You're gorgeous." I awe at the sight of her. She has this effect on me every time I look at her it's like the first.

"Thanks. I was just going to ask you if this is good attire for whatever you have planned tonight? Should I be more dressed up?"

I shake my head and hold her hand down the stairs.

|Marina|

I can't help but be intrigued for whatever Spencer has planned.
