Groaning, I refrained myself from complaining again. The Master had instructed me to change into a dress he had bought for me because apparently I had to be formal in front of the High Priests. However, the dress was long and kept getting caught on vegetation on the ground; oh and another thing...
We were in another rainforest.
Why couldn't the High Priests live somewhere else than a rainforest? The humidity was making the dress stick to me, making the journey less enjoyable than it was already. The Master wouldn't want for me either, meaning that I'd have to keep running after him. And let me tell you, these shoes were not designed for this sort of terrain.
There was no designated path, everything was overgrown. Though, The Master seemed to have no trouble with it all and just kept smiling. I wasn't sure whether that was a good or bad thing.
He suddenly stopped walking, giving me time to catch up."We have arrived, your majesty."
I looked up, expecting there to be some sort of temple or something extravagant. Instead, in front of me was piles of stones surrounded by vines. So I had to look my best for the High Priests, but they didn't have to make an effort whatsoever; they could have plucked a few weeds at least. The Master laughed at my expression as he offered me his hand.
"So what now?" I asked as we stepped over stones and tangled plants.
"We wait." He simply said.
"Wait? Wait for what?"
"For the High Priests to arrive."
"You've got to be joking? Oh god, I can't spend another minute in this place." I slumped down onto a rock to sit on.
"Who goes there?" A deep voice shouted out.
The Master laughed."It is alright Captain, you can come out, we won't harm you."
At the word 'Captain' I jumped onto my feet, spinning around in order to find where he was. The bastard was hiding and was too chicken to face us head on. It was silent for a while until I saw a figure step out behind one of the tall rocks set in place.
"Scarlett? Is that you? Bloody hell, you're wearing a dress again." Jack exclaimed.
"You...you little," I stomped towards him, pointing my finger at him,"you're an idiot but I can't stay mad at you and that makes me hate you more!" I said before hugging him.
"Do you see this Master? This is how you get the ladies." I could hear the smirk in Jack's voice, resulting in a hard punch on the arm from me.
Suddenly, it went eerily quiet, there was no rustling of the leaves or singing of the birds. The others seemed to notice this too as we all started to look at the environment around us. As the ground started to shake, another type of force threw us onto the ground, making us bow down on our knees. I tried to get back up but the power was too strong; this had to be the High Priests. I was starting to get scared, I had no clue what was going to happen to us.
A voice came from behind the rocks again."At last, she's here."
