"So how'd you get into music?"
"Well I guess it always been in me. But definitely in my freshmen year I became really interested in it. It's something so cool to be a part of and to create. I know I'm young, but I really want to do this the rest of my life." I smiled; talking about my passion was so easy.
The reporter looked down as his crumpled up piece of paper with all the questions scribbled onto it.
"What do you say to the people who accuse you of being "a gold digger" when it comes to your relationship with River Johnson?"
I frowned. This was the second time I was asked this today and still couldn't believe they would ask it. It was rude and they must have known that it made me feel uncomfortable. Sure, I wasn't actually going out with the guy, but to question somebody's motives like that, hurt.
I sighed. "You know it's really unfortunate that people think that, but it's not true. I don't think anybody can have a ...healthy relationship... if those are the intensions. And it's not like I'm marrying him, we're just having fun."
The reported smiled at the camera and me politely. "I see. Well thanks so much for talking to us." He said to me, and then turned towards the camera. "Stay tuned for more vids on RockMusic.com!"
I smiled at him and shook his hand.
Standing up, I noticed that Jess was watching from behind the camera. She gave me a giant smile and a thumbs up.
"Good interview. Sounds like you know what you're talking about." She laughed and we walked out of the small green room together.
"Ya, at first I was worried because I didn't know what to expect. But both the people interviewing me were pretty nice so it wasn't too scary."
Actually, I was embarrassed I even was worried about this. I had two interviews, both with small Internet websites and the interviews would be posted on YouTube. They weren't anything scary are tedious; they were short and fun.
Jess and I strolled around the stage and talked to a few crew members she had become friends with. That was Jess; she could talk to anyone, anywhere and a few minutes later they'd be best friends. I on the hand was more reserved and much more awkward talking to new people. It was hard to formulate sentences and not get flustered when to talking to someone knew. I constantly wondered what they thought of me, which made me act in a way I usually wouldn't.
"I'm so hungry." I complained, holding my stomach.
Jess thought for a second. "I got some hot pockets and Red Bull on the bus?" She offered.
"Yes please!" My stomach made a very unattractive noise to help prove my point.
We walked quickly towards the bus, me practically dragging her behind. I threw opened the door and ran up the stairs. Jess nearly ran into me when I stopped suddenly.
We had walked into the middle of River being interviewed by MTV. I could tell it was MTV from the girl interviewing him; I recognized her from my own tv. This was also a much more important interview just by looking at the equipment. One of the large cameras turned to look at me and one was pointed at River. His reaction mirrored mine; we watched each other wide eyed, completely at a loss at what to do.
"Oops...Sorry, I'll come back later!" I stammered, turning to leave.
"No, you should stay. I'd love to ask some questions too." The girl gushed, patting the space beside her on the front lounge couch.
I slowly turned back around, feeling very uneasy. Carefully, I walked and sat down beside River, avoiding all the wires and the stares from everyone in the room. Jess watched helplessly from the front, knowing how uncomfortable this would be for me. One thing I couldn't handle aside from awkward situations was being put on the spot. And that usually led to an awkward situation, so instantly regretted sitting down.
