"Alice."

It was too early, of that I was sure.

My body was soar and heavy, the smell of chlorine everywhere. I was laying on my stomach, my breaths shallow.

I stretched slowly, my hands grabbing for a bed sheet to cover my exposed shoulder. My left hand trailed off the side of the bed, reaching nothing but my right hand held on to a material. My fingers lightly pulled but it was stuck.

"Alice."    I pulled again, my fingers tracing something foreign.

"Alice," A deep voice chuckled into my ear. "If you want me to take off my shirt, all you had to do is ask..."

My eyes opened quickly, only for a second before I had to shut them again from the natural light that was pouring in from the large windows. I blinked a couple times.

"You wish." I replied, sleepily followed by a big yawn.

River had a gorgeous smirk playing on his lips. His brilliant colored green eyes shawn with amusement. He propped his head up on his elbow and he ran his free hand through his mess of dark hair that was likely a result from the pool time last night or this morning.

Ah.

The adventures of River and Alice leaked into my consciousness and I groaned.

"You just remembered, didn't you?" River guessed, slightly tracing his finger over my shoulder.

I turned over so I was laying on my back, casually readjusting the huge T-shirt River had given me.    He sighed, grabbing around my waist and pulling me closer to him so that I was pretty much nuzzling into him.

  I froze.

"What?" He asked, sensing my sudden apprehensions.

"What are we doing here?" I asked quietly, worried about his response.

"Isn't that the million dollar question?" River mused, scratching the faint four o'clock shadow that dusted his jaw. "People have been asking that question for hundreds of years and-"

I looked up at him with an not impressed glare.

He chuckled, a deep smooth chuckle that, I had just very recently realized, I  loved.

He smoothed down my hair, caressing the side of my face.

"Seriously River. I'm so confused at this point-"

"What are you possibly confused about?" His tone sarcastic.

I rolled my eyes.  "Well, last night, I thought I was going to sleep with you but then I-"

I felt him stop breathing, his expression changing from carefree to stunned. He remained still for a couple moments, as he obviously tried to work out something in his head.

  "You what?"

"Riv, I said I was going to sleep with-"

Suddenly he rolled on top of me, straddling me, pinning me to the bed. His hands grabbed my face, holding me still. His mouth was on mine in seconds, stealing the air from my lungs before I even knew what was happening.

It was my turn to be shocked. My body didn't respond to his touch at first, I just laid there, trying to get my brain and heart to start working again.

  What had just happened?

"Alice." River murmured into my neck between kisses, his light stubble tickling my face.
