"Hey guys, come on in," I say to my group of friends in front of me. I make sure to give out a believable smile or else they would know if something were wrong. I move off to the side and one by one they all come into my home.
"Hello C.L. it's good to see you," Stephen says. Stephen, as well as Andrew, was of Indian descent. Most knew right off the bat of their ethnicity due to their thick Indian accent, not to mention their extravagant clothing styles. But, apparently today was different; he wore casual clothes. And by his side, like always, is his cousin Andrew, who is also dressed in the same style. (No shocker there. Since Stephan and Andrew are so close, they always coordinate with each other about EVERYTHING.)
"Whoa, C.L., why are dressed like that?" Andrew asks. "I thought we were only staying at your place. Are we going out partying in town?"
"Oh." I completely forgot that I was still wearing my dress. Between my friends and me, we all knew that I loathe wearing a dress, unless it was so something important. (Like a visit from my aunt.) I tend to dress myself in a pair of jeans and a plain shirt. "Well, my Aunt Rose was here an-"
"Say no more," Andrew interrupts.
"Well, where should we settle down, C.L?" Luis asks. His little sister, Raina, just stood by him. The both of them wearing their sleepwear. Luis and Raina, siblings, came to England with their parents when they were very young. They were originally from China, and their father is a successful businessman who owns the most famous cellphone company. The siblings are inseparable to each other and never leave each other's sides, similar to a pair of twins I know.
"Oh, just head down to the media room"
"Ok," everyone says in unison.
"I'll catch up with you guys in a moment. Let me just go change." I run up the flight of stairs and head towards my room. While running through the hallways, the memories of the nightmare began to taunt me once again. No matter how hard I tried to ignore it bits and piece always manage to sneak back to my mind. My hands began to shake and being in a hallway, almost similar to my nightmare, was no help either. I pick up my speed; I didn't want to be here, alone, any longer. Unfortunately, I was too distracted pondering in my own mind that I didn't pay attention to where I was looking, and I crash right onto Mary, who blinded by the pile of laundry blocking her view. I fall, butt first, on the ground, as did Mary. Then, the piles of clothes tumble on top of me until I was nothing more but a pile of rags.
"Oh! I'm so sorry, Miss C.L. I wasn't paying attention."
"No, no, no. It was my fault, Mary. I was too busy in my thoughts to realize where I was going," I say. I start picking up every piece of clothing around me and hand them to Mary, who places them back into the basket.
"I forgot to ask. Do you or your friends need anything? A pillow or blanket perhaps since they will be staying for the night?"
"No, I can get the stuff myself. I don't need to trouble you anymore especially after all this. In fact, why don't you, Brad, Finnick, and Tom take the night off, after Brad and Sebastian are finish doing the pizza?"
"Are you sure, C.L.?"
"Certainly."
"Thank you, Miss C.L., you are too kind." Mary was practically beaming with excitement when we both went our separate ways. She and the others work long hours, for crying out loud, of course I had to give them the night off. After entering my room, I go through my massive closet and change into my PJs, which were the same from the night before. Then, I make my way back to the media room. After getting through the maze of hallways in the manor, I enter the room to find everyone already settled in.
