~CL's POV~
As my mind wanders off aimlessly, the only thing that my eyes seemed to have focused on was the light that was growing bigger and bigger within the empty black void. I barely have any recollection of where I was, where I am, and where I should be at. I still know who I am, but my mind pounds as I try to remember any recent events.
Why does everything feel so odd?
The light grows larger and larger within my view, and the more I concentrate my focus on it, the more I realize how bright it actually is. To be honest, it's actually blinding and my eyes begin to burn.
I repeatedly blink to better focus on the light and ease the stinging that it caused my eyes to endure. As I began to really look into the light, I begin to notice feeling returning to my body. I felt a pressure along the backside of my body, quickly distinguishing that I was lying on the ground somewhere. The ground felt so hard. Any moment now and my back will be sore. I maneuver my hands around, feeling the hard surface for myself, but that proved to be fruitless. It was all just a smooth even surface.
Since that ended with absolutely nothing at all, I can only guess that the only way I can understand where I'm at is by seeing it for myself.
As the light grows in my vision, I disregard everything and devote my whole focus onto the light. The darkness around me seemingly grows nonexistent. Then, in a flash, the light envelopes me.
Finally, everything begins to materialize around me; however, the white never dissipated. There was no color morphing; rather, everything remained a pristine clean ivory. Nevertheless, the only way I was able to distinguish shapes were the shadows that we created from the statures around me.
Once my vision was cleared, I push myself from the floor and scan the area around me.
Pillars were encased around me, closing me in to a square cell. Their surface was just like the ground, clean and smooth. It barely had little to no detail to it. The only thing that gave dimension to the unknown white room was the large stairway that led up. It's color was exactly like everything else. I glance up each step, curious as to where it would go, then find that the stairway stops. It splits off to two ways to create a different floor. Just like the ground floor I was in, pillars decorated the second floor.
Everything looked so familiar to me, yet at the same time, it was unfamiliar.
It looks like my home, but it also looks like a pristine castle.
Furthermore, a spiraling stairway began from one corner of the second floor and it continued on forever. I tried to trail it as much as I could but the stairway disappeared into the misty white sky.
What is this place, and where do the stairs lead to?
Curiosity was getting the best of me. I simply have to know where exactly I'm at, and these stairways are the only thing that may lead me to the answer.
With that, I slowly stroll closer towards the stairs. My eyes wandered on each step, interested where it would all lead.
I was only two small steps away from going onto the stair when a voice behind says, "I wouldn't go up there if I were you."
