Once the school bell rang, all of my classmates rush out of their seats and out the door. I stayed behind to prevent myself from being trampled by a bunch of crazy teens. Then, once the coast was clear, I grab my belongings, stuffing them inside my bag, and walk out of the room. While making my way, I meet up with Bell. She was leaning against my locker, but she didn't notice me right away. She was too busy talking with Alois. But, once I was a mere couple of feet away from her, she acknowledges my presences. She waves at me and Alois smiles at my direction.
"Hey C.L.," Bell says. "Let's hurry and get our lunch before the line gets too long."
"You don't have to tell me twice," I reply.
"Hope you don't mind C.L. but I let Alois join us for lunch."
"It's not a problem. I don't mind." I look over at Alois. "C'mon, we'll show you our table."
"Lead on, ladies," he comments.
With that, we enter the café. We quickly grab our tray filled with our desired meals and walk out of the building before another wave of students crashed through those doors. There was no need to be trapped in a room of rowdy teens. I was hoping to beat everyone else to our seats but my dreams were short lived. The rest of the gang had already beaten us to the punch, taking all the desired seats I wanted.
I sigh.
Then, Bell grasps onto Alois's sleeve and drags him towards our group. "Guys!"
Gaining everyone's attention, they turn their heads and look at Bell and the stranger beside her.
"This is Alois. He's new here, so he's going to be joining us today."
"Awesome! Another amigo to join the group!" Stephen shouts. He scoots over to the side, and pats on the newly available seat beside him. "Sit with me, brochacho."
"If you insist," Alois says. He graciously takes his seat within the group table.
Bell walks around to the other side and sits right next to Raina.
After taking the last seat available, I start to devour my meal, ignoring everyone else around me. They were too busy having conversations with Alois, mainly blasting questions at his direction.
"So, Alois, where did you move from?" Luis asks. He plops another piece of his sandwich in his mouth.
While unscrewing his bottle of water, Alois answers, "I just moved here from Spain."
"No way!" Edward interrupts.
"Yea, but I always move all over the place before I have the chance to settle in."
"Lucky!!"
"But, I used to live in London when I was younger."
"Sweet. We won't have to show you around then."
He chuckles. "No; there's no need. I'm familiar with London just like the rest of you."
"Who do you live with? Do you have any siblings?" Raina asks. She rests her elbows on the table and her head on her hands.
"I live with my parents, but I'm an only child," he answers, his pitch rising towards the end of the sentence.
I glance up from my food and look over at Alois. He was lying about something, and I just know it. Bell does the same tactic when she lies, even if she can't help herself. Something in his sentence wasn't connecting right. But, I simply shrug my shoulders and brush it off. There was no need to rush into judgement. He was new here, and I don't know everything about him.
"No way!" Stephen spats out. "C.L. is too. Well... besides a few other things," he mumbles in the end.
Andrew slaps his head.
Then, out of nowhere, Edward asks the unbelievable. "Hey, why don't you come to C.L.'s birthday party this weekend? I'm sure she wouldn't mind it."
With that, everyone eagerly looks back at me. Besides Alois, everyone was begging me to invite the new kid.
"U-Uh, you can come. The more the merrier," I reply.
I'm not sure how I was going to do it, but I'm going to try and squeeze in one more person. But, since my aunt is already making this birthday such a huge festivity, I'm sure it'd be alright. My aunt was already inviting a few of her coworkers. Bell and I, who was force to tag along, practically invited everyone from the Academy. I wasn't exactly hidden from the lime-light. I did have the largest family business in Europe. I just hope I'm not over-working everyone.
"Well, if it's okay with C.L., then I'll gladly attend. I do love a good party."
~Time Skip~
After entering my mansion, I was greeted by my two little babies, Snowy and Smokey. The two little fur balls pranced through the front entrance and rubbing against my leg, silently demanding me to pick them off the floor. I graciously pick up the two fluffy kittens, not minding the fact that their fur was shedding onto my clothes.
Then, I walk away from the door and run up the large flight of stairs. After dashing through the hallways, I crash into my office and stroll over to my mahogany wood desk. I set the kittens on the wooden surface, and I fall onto my plush seat. I take out my notebooks from my bag and quickly get right onto work, scribbling down the answers to my trigonometry paper.
After finishing all my paperwork, both for school and for work, I drop my pen and throw my arms in the air, stretching out my back in the process. I scan at the clock, realizing that it was already seven. I spent a perfectly good afternoon on doing my work. What a bummer. But, the work did take a lot out of me.
With that in mind, I rise from my seat and shuffle out the room. I need to put some food in my stomach before I decide to hit the hay.
Pushing open the kitchen door, I make a B-line towards the fridge. Mary, Finnick, Brad, and Tom were busy talking amongst themselves on the small table. There was no need to trouble them for such a petty thing.
"Oh, hello C.L." Finnick says after spotting me next to the fridge.
"Hello," I mumble. I rummage through the fridge and take out a yogurt, grabbing a granola bar from the shelf soon after.
"C.L., you sure you don't want anything else? I can whip something up for you," Brad suggests.
"No, it's fine. I'm not really that hungry anyways. I'm just gonna go to bed."
Before they could retort, I exit the room without another word. I didn't even have time to realize that I passed through the hallways. Almost like in a blink of an eye, I was already inside my bedroom. I suppose I was so exhausted that I'm hallucinating. After changing into my pajamas, I hop right onto bed and it didn't take that much time for the fatigue to take over.
