~CL's POV~
I brush my hand through my hair while holding a cup of tea in the other as I trot through the halls of my massive home. After finishing a hearty breakfast, I was ready to head back to my bedroom to snuggle with Snowy and Smokey. Even though I was in a time where relaxing with my two precious companions was the last thing I should be doing on the list, I had to keep my sanity somehow. If I invest all my time and my entire life on trying to protect the people that I love and defeating a couple of monstrous demons, then they would've won. They would've had me wrapped around their finger. I couldn't possibly let them run my life. There are just some things that I have to keep to myself.
The good thing is that I know everyone is safe... for now at least. I guess now was the best time to pull the sick-with-the-flu card. It was the only way my friends and I could be away from the Academy. For the time being, it was just safe to be home. None of us could risk being jumped out in the open. Our respected homes were the only places where dark beings couldn't touch us. Let's just say that Grim Reapers that amazing protective artifacts.
However, even when I know others are safe and nothing bad will happen anytime soon, it didn't really lower the stress that was circulating around my head. By now, especially after an unrestful night (which has been occuring for the past couple of weeks now), I have a massive headache. The unneeded stress has now accumulated in my brain that nothing else can fit inside. Pressure was pushing against my skull, trying to break free, but just like my stubborn self, my head wasn't planning on exploding anytime soon. It would just rather let the stress continue to simmer in my mind until it was too late.
I think I'd rather take the flu than this pounding headache.
But, I'm hoping after today my stress level can lower to a livable stage (not that having stress is a healthy thing).
Sebastian kept his word that he made only the day before, and he has requested that the Reapers visit the manor to discuss the ticking situation. He, surely, couldn't risk leaving the home unprotected.
And, even in their busy schedules, the four Reapers agreed to come over.
It'll be good to have some more friends visiting my home, especially when those said friends can snatch the living daylights out of my enemies. Though, I suppose having friends that have a day job which consists of killing people on a daily basis is pretty much a death wish, but what can I say? Grell is such a wonderful character to have in my home. (Others might disagree)
Speaking of the Reapers, they should be here any minute now. They usually are on time, as they should be... again, it's part of their job.
But, hopefully, I'll have enough time to rest in the comfort of my bed before they come by.
With that, I reach the massive stairway that was built in the center of my home. I grab hold of the rail before jogging up a number of steps, careful not to spill any of the hot liquid in my cup.
That's when I hear the doorbell ring. The high chime not only sounded in the "grand foyer" (as most would call this rather large room) but in the entire manor.
I groan. Guess I wasn't going to get my "me-time". Then, I turn around to trek back down to reach the front door.
However, after taking the first step down, another figure suddenly appeared at the door. Following that, I could feel a small wind brush past me. Standing by the front entrance, Sebastian looked back at me and smirks. "Don't worry, Catherine. I'll answer the door."
