For the remainder of that night, everyone stayed by my side. They didn't want this fiasco to happen again. Even if it did, they wanted to be at my side. Since he was the only person who was able to calm me down, Sebastian was right beside me. Everyone else laid on the floor, ready to rush to my aid when needed. But, even with their company, I was unable to fall right back to sleep. I couldn't risk that nightmare coming back to haunt me.

Now it was morning, and that night was long gone. At everyone's request, I stayed home for the day. That nightmare had nearly drove me mad, but no one could notice. I want them not to worry for my well being, so I kept my emotions inside. But now, I couldn't even walk anywhere without having to look over my shoulder. I fear that what happened in my mind would actually come true.

After passing through the hallways, I finally make it to the dining room, the one place that was unaffected in my dreams. I picked at my oversized grey sweater and pulled down my blue skirt once I sat on the chair. Then, I jump out of my thoughts when I hear a plate clicking against the wood table. I stare at my meal in front of me, rest my head on my hand, and slowly take small bites out of my breakfast. As I peacefully ate my meal, I could feel another presence right beside me.

"What is it, Sebastian?" I ask. My voice bearing no emotions, and it was so quite that no normal person would've been able to hear it.

"Something has been bothering you since the previous night."

"Wow. Are you a mind-reader now?" I insult, though not intentionally.

"Would you care to explain what occurred?" He was so concerned about my well-being. Though, he was speaking for everyone else. But, I can't bring myself to repeat what I saw.

"No."

I take in another bite of the food. I didn't even pay attention to what exactly I was eating. For all I care, I could've been eating a bowl of cat food. But, I was so caught up in my mind that I dared not to notice my surroundings. After a few more mouthfuls, I push aside the plate, indicating I had no intention of eating the rest. Even with more than half of the plate still full, I couldn't bring myself to each the rest. It would've all came back out eventually.

Sebastian sighs, "If you do not feel well, Catherine, then why don't you rest?"

"The last thing I want to do now is sleep."

"I understand." He grabs the plate and quickly exits the room, leaving me alone in the large room.

I stare at the wood patterns as the constantly buzzing echoes in my ear, due to the lack of noise. Then, I hear mumbling behind me. I stood up my seat, eying down the door behind me, then carefully tip-toe to the door. As I near the thick doorway, I could distinctly separate Mary, Finnick, Brad, and Tom's voices. Once I was centimeters away, I press my ear against the cold wood, listening in on their conversation.

"Oh dear, I hope the young mistress will be okay," Mary says, worried.

"Yea. I've never seen her so scared in my life," Brad responds.

"Do you think we'll have to cancel her party?" Finnick asks.

"I sure hope not," Mary replies. "I think the party would be a good distraction for her."

I dared not to move a single muscle as the conversation wore on.

"What do you think happened to her?"

Tom sighs, "I remember Catherine, at a young age, waking up from supposed nightmares like these."

"Wait, it's happened before?" Brad interrupts.

"Yes. She was only five years old when they started. However during that time, I was the one who could get near her and calm her. She was absolutely terrified to have Sebastian in the same room as her."

"What?! But, why?" Finnick questions.

"She claimed that a person in a dark suit haunted her, that he wanted to hurt her."

"A dark suit? Sounds an awful lot like Sebastian," Mary states.

"Exactly. That's exactly why she didn't want him near her."

"Poor, C.L.."

"But, as time went on, those nightmares subsided, until now. I suspect that another demon might be following her."

"But who? Of course, it wouldn't be Sebastian."

Then, it suddenly grew silent. Everyone, including myself, were in deep thought trying to figure out what was happening with me. If Tom's theory is correct, who exactly would come after me? Who had a big enough grudge against my father to start haunting me.

"What are we suppose to do now? C.L.'s sanity is on the line. Do you think it's worth putting her in the spotlight? Because, I don't."

"It's her decision," Tom points out.

"Well, I'm going to check up on her."

Before Mary had the chance to even make a single move, I burst through the door. They simply stood there frozen. They knew I was sneaking around, listening to their entire conversation.

"Tom, are you saying that this happened to me before?" I ask. If this did happen before, why would they come back? My body shakes at the thought of having to relive that all over again.

"Yes," he answers. "But, you do not have to worry. You'll be okay."

"I'm not worried about myself!"

They jump at the sudden outburst.

"I know whoever was conjuring up these nightmares was another demon! And, it wants to hurt all of you. I'm not afraid of these blasted recurring nightmares; I'm only scared for your safety!"

I felt my knees buckle and I fall to the floor. I grip my hair hard and stare at the floor. Mary was the first to rush to my aid. She wraps a protective arm around me.

"Don't worry C.L., I promise to never leave. We'll stay by your side, and we'll protect you," she reassures.

"That's right C.L., there's no way another demon will try to get rid of us that easily," Brad says with confidence.

"So, don't ever think that we'll leave just because something threatens to take us away from you," Finnick, who was now next to me, says.

I sigh, "We don't know what this thing is capable of."

"Doesn't mean we won't resist it."

"We're not going to let this thing get to us," Mary says.

"I believe you guys, but I don't know what's going to happen."

"So, do we have to cancel the party then?" Everyone eagerly stares at me for an answer.

I sigh, "No. The party will still go on."

"Then, in that case, we must prepare for the celebration. We only have a few more hours to go," Tom states.
