Another lovely chapter for y'all... Hope you enjoy!!!

~~~~~
[Quick rule of thumb: the first half of the chapter is all based on the past(or through cinematic records), and those scenes/people/quotes will be italicized while modern CL & Claude's actions/quotes will be in regular font. This is simply to know what is the past and what isn't]
~~~~~

I open my mouth to speak but the words hesitated to come out. After witnessing literally Claude's life story, I didn't know how to think anymore. I didn't know what I should believe. And, most importantly, I'm not sure if whatever I will says will be the last words I ever speak. With that last memory, it looks like Claude had reached his breaking point. If I'm not sure what the past already holds, then how am I to assume what Claude can do now.

It wasn't until I force the air out of my lungs that the words finally voiced themselves.

"W-Wait, wait, wait... I thought you said that I was your fiancé," I state. I extend my hand out towards the people and the scene before me, which was now stopped and frozen in time. "But, you had never proposed to me."

Claude followed the direction of my hand and gazed upon our past selves before looking back me, yet he remains unfazed. I swear that blank face of his is really starting to piss me off.

"We were never engaged!"

Again... nothing!

"I was never yours to begin with, Claude!"

Finally, he lets out a soft chuckle. "I had proposed to you..."

My tense expression then loosens. "What-"

"But... the only time you accept was in your last... dying... breathe."

My jaw drops. "What did you do?" I mumble.

He leans his head closer to me. "Hm?"

"What on earth did you do?!" I shout this time.

Then, Claude smirks and his gaze darkens, sending an uncomfortable chill down my spine. "I made sure that Sebastian finally lost the one thing he always wanted. His soulmate."

Unlike the times before, even if the colors swirled and morphed around Claude and me, the colors were more forceful than normal. They push past me, seeming to move me side-to-side and front-to-back, and with each streak of color that flew past me, the wind that blew almost left me unable to breath. Every color jumbled in front of my eyes and my head was beginning to ache. Although reality wasn't affected by these memories, it felt like the world was shaking, ready to break into oblivion.

With this harsh shift into the next scene, I know that this memory will be much darker and more tragic than the last.

Whatever I'm about to witness, it'll leave a permanent scar in my mind and soul. Whatever has happened, I know I'm about to be the victim. Whatever Claude has done in his lifetime, it has caused nothing but heartbreak and destruction.

I'm about to see a part of my past life that I wish I'd want to forget, but I have to know everything about it.

I have to understand, even if it'll kill me.
